Attended an Advanced OTDR course here in February 2024. Course was great, we were able to get hands on equipmeng fro the outset going through faults and other anomalies.

At the same time the whole course was learning what others were seeing.
Geoff the instructor was on hand to explain and give advice at all times.

Attended the CONA course last week. Geoff delivered the course brilliantly! Even though I am new to the telecoms industry with no fibre background, Geoff's knowledge in the field and expertise in training, made what was complicated concepts about fibre and network design, a lot simpler and more interesting than I had expected prior to attending the course. Geoff is an excellent teacher and an even better fibre guy. What he doesn't know isn't worth knowing, he has some very exclusive information and it is very clear that not only can he walk the walk and talk the talk he is also more than happy to share his years of experience with his trainees. Geoff's delivery of the CONA course was thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening (heh). Physically handling all the cable types and seeing live OTDR and fusion splicing really brought home a lot of fundamentals. What I enjoyed most were his anecdotes from the industry which added a lot of colour (heh) to the material. It was a pleasure and I'm looking forward to the CONE course. Highly recommended without reservation - one of the best training courses I've attended. 🙂

I have now attended 2 courses the CFCE and CONA at CrossConnect Training. Geoff is a great instructor and delivers the material with various techniques that makes complicated subjects seem easy. I will be back for the CONE course once available but will have to save my pennies as will have to pay for it myself!!

Geoff is really easy going and has a talent in explaining complicated concepts in the simplest way possible. You get to keep all the materials used during the course, and they even provide support for their candidates, which is much appreciated.

I've done the CONA course and it's a great early-intermediate optical networks course with elements of design, test result analysis and more. The assignment you do as part of the course is gold and if you feel like you're in need of a refresher, just do the assignment again as there are many ways of approaching it. X-Connect provide you with tools and materials to continue learning if you wish. Could not recommend them enough.
