A&E turning away patients with TIA's.. Absolutely appalling. Turning away vulnerable people that are at risk of a stroke. Negligent. Going against NICE guidelines with bad clinical pathways. How dare they neglect a patient in this way. Telling them to go back to GP when specialist is at same hospital. Giving them terrible advice, such bad practice & absolute system failure. Avoid.

I have visited the paediatric emergency department a few times with my baby after being sent by GP. Most recent I bypassed GP as a week ago I got fobbed off & Baby got worse. From security, reception, triage, doctors & nurses, all were absolutely lovely. Paediatrician actually listened to my concerns and explained what each medication would help & a realistic timescale of how long illness will last. He was very empathetic & kind. The wonderful nurse (I think her badge said CJ) talked me through how to give bubs inhaler and other meds. Great Paeds A&e team!

The most appalling wait of 5 hours with really inept management patients were getting more ill due to the wait.
This just cannot be acceptable in 2025 with a real scenario that those who run this waiting system are drowning with little hope of improvement..more staff needed due to 60 people continuously waiting..
It's a disaster for the NHS which places us in a worse situation than 2nd world war day's.. dreadful dreadful

I have nothing but praise regarding my visit this morning to Darenth Valley hospital A&E department. I had fallen and hurt my ankle and needed it looked at but was visiting a friend in the area.
I went along this morning and within 2 hours had been seen and dealt with. Everting about the hospital was positive… friendly, professional staff and clean surroundings. This hospital puts my hospital in West London to shame. If only all hospitals offered this superb service! Well done!!!!

The worst experience and the worst treatment I have ever experienced. My 11 month old daughter had an allergic reaction and instead of tending to her they were more worried about me and her father being in there. After many arguments I got escorted out and wasn’t there to comfort my baby in her time of need. No other hospital I know of has this policy anymore especially for babies.
I am disgusted and appalled, adults are sitting in there together you’re allowed a friend two women I can see in the window have a laugh but for my baby it’s not allowed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS ESPECIALLYY IF YOU ARE A PARENT.

Update: I forgot to update but while waiting to be seen another family (mum, dad and 2 sons) walked in and they were all allowed in to the hospital together, they were allowed in the waiting room together and even in the room with the doctor.
I feel sick over the treatment I experienced in this place and will never step foot in there agai.

If you want to die, best place for you to go.. Guaranteed result! For everyone else, SAVE YOURSELF!! Careless doctors and nurses chatting and delaying things unnecessarily, these are the kind of NHS outfits that bring shame to the entire system and leaves people wanting to abolish the NHS. Appalling service, seriously consider closing this site down... it might actually save more lives!! and save money instead of hiring these good-for-nothing staff.

Was sent to A&E a couple of weeks ago by my GP. Yes I had a very long wait but once I saw the doctor she was kind professional gentle and reassuring. I then had to wait in the suite to see surgeons yes quite along wait but both surgeons re examined me sent me for a CT scan and referred me for a colonoscopy on an urgent basis and I have had it since. The doctor and surgeons were both very professional and couldn't do more for me that night but we're very reassuring. The nurses were also lovely and kind.

A&E is unbelievable bad
I was there with my 26 year old sister she was in pain
The nurse took blood 5h later came back to tell us we can go because the blood is all good.
So what’s wrong with my sister the doctor was like I don’t know but the test was good we left with my sister in pain. My sister was getting worse the next day so we got the train to London it was the weekend and 5pm at night.
When we got to London we find out she had serious infection this mad me so angry Darent valley didn’t see it we did spend week in London but she is doing better now

If you do go to darent valley hospital take jacket as A&E is freezing

Head nurse extremely rude

Go up
