Went to an amazing wedding here years ago but is now being used as immigrant accommodation .

Wouldn’t bother, full of migrants. Hotel is in dire need of knocking down and rooms are barely cleaned. Used to be a fairly decent hotel, but is so run down it needs a lot of investment which it is unlikely to receive. Even the spa section is not worth using.

We turned up early and found plenty to occupy us while we waited to check in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I paid for flowers to our room as it was our wedding anniversary and once we got to the room, they weren't there. I went down to see why and it wasn't put on the system properly. The staff were very apologetic and gave us food and wine vouchers which more than made up for it as they upgraded our room too. We loved our spa treatments and time in the jacuzzi, bit disappointed the sauna was out of action. The gym could do with updating but I did get what I needed out of it. The restaurant staff were very friendly friendly. Our bed was very comfy and room was way to hot. Had a lovely shower and all in all lovely stay. Will definitely stay again. I will say the decor could do with updating

I want to thank all the bad reviewers ... After reading them I was fearing the worst. But my expectations were absolutely blown out of the water. Lovely welcome from friendly receptionist. Quick and easy check in with full instructions of all facilities. Nice relaxing massage in the spa and a nice swim and chill in the jacuzzi. Room light, airy and clean ... yes decor is slightly dated but I'm sure they will be revamped in the near future! Had some nice drinks in the bar followed by some gorgeous food. Salad bar was lovely and there was an excellent selection of main courses catering for all needs. Pudding was nice too! Lovely friendly and helpful waiting staff as well. Bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was delicious too and again all the staff were always willing to assist. The staff said hello to us in the corridor. I honestly don't understand the bad reviews at all! The hotel doesn't claim to 5 star so perhaps people shouldn't expect this!

After staying at a Britannia Hotel before and being disappointed I was pleasantly surprised.
Our room was very clean, warm and comfortable. The evening meal was very enjoyable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We spent some time in the enclosed garden, shielded from the elements.
Breakfast was also enjoyable, staff being very helpful and friendly despite obviously being very busy.
We only had an overnight stay, but we were made very welcome.

Nice place. Although my room didn't have air conditioning and it was absolutely roasting throughout the night. The windows opened about an inch and just felt hot all night. Standard of room was okay but it definitely feels like they concentrated all of the focus at the front reception area which is nice and modern and then walking to the room it was like going back a few decades. Ok for the money and facilities on site like pool and gym

Firstly, how this place is rated as a 4 star is beyond me.
The path from the disabled parking is blocked by coaches, so unuserble if in a wheelchair.
The staff on the front desk were very helpful, the rooms were large but in need of updating and the lighting was dark.
All the wood in the bathroom had lost its varnish and a light continuity flickered while on.
The service in the in the restaurant was slow and the food was pretty poor.
The pool was over chlorinated
I certainly wouldn't stay here again, for the price of the 3 rooms we had I would rather buy a tent!!

Went for a spa day - all the staff and treatments were great. The staff in the health club are really helpful, approachable and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our treatments were both exactly what you would expect.
However, the premises are looking a little tired and would probably benefit from a refurb. The changing rooms had one working hair dryer. The shower door did not close and the shower was not firmly attached to the wall.
Our afternoon tea was served down in the bar - where staff are evidently more difficult to locate. It was disappointing to hear the bar manager claim she had been out only 2 minutes before the spa staff I went back for came to find her, as my friend had been sat in front of the bar whilst I went searching for staff.
The afternoon tea itself was average - some of the cakes were still frozen, but it was edible in general.
The best thing about this place is definitely the attitude of the spa staff. It would be lovely to see the place in a better state of repair.
