I recently started coming to the Deaf Village. I initially thought I wouldnโ€™t like it but when I came to visit I met all the staff and they were all so nice. I was then referred to the Deaf Village and received the help I needed and felt really supported. A while later I started volunteering there and shadowed other staff members to increase my confidence. Then in November they offered me a part time position as a well-being officer, supporting other deaf clients. Everyone likes me as I am a really nice and fun person. Iโ€™m happy working at the Deaf Village because everyone is so lovely and it is a really nice place, set in beautiful surroundings. I love CEO Manager Director Debra Cartlidge

Visited the deaf village through training with work. Really enjoyed the day, it was a real eye opener into the lives of those living with a sensory impairment.
Had the opportunity to look around the White House, gardens and was introduced some of the residents.
The staff are very knowledgeable, welcoming and would recommend that anyone visit the village to have a general chat or simply to have a look at the great service they provide โค๏ธโค๏ธ

The deaf village
A vision brought to life by a very inspiring lady on a quest to bring services to a marginalised & often overlooked & forgotten section of the community
A place where the hearing impaired can call home away from home a surrogate family
A community aided & guided by a knowledgeable team who help the service users with innumerable tasks guidance & tools to the users interact with a world most take for granted
A beautiful vision in an ever changing space with many projects finished though in a state of flux as an ever thriving expansion continues in this much needed hub for the deaf & hearing impaired
