Really enjoyed the Introduction to creative writing workshop with Laura. We were sent a really lovely prompt box before the course and worked through this during the course amongst other really engaging prompts. This was very relaxed and Laura is really nice. She created a safe space to feel confident to engage. Highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic. I attended the Peak District writing retreat in Buxton and was blown away from start to finish. Very supportive and welcoming atmosphere, lots of respect for each other and our work. Laura worked tirelessly to make it an amazing day. From activities to writing prompts, endless food and drinks and so much advice. It was a real treat to be surrounded by a group of writers overseen by someone with such knowledge and great insight. I can’t wait for more retreats next year and I’ll definitely be joining the finish your book course. So pleased to have hopefully found a writing community! Can’t thank you enough, I feel so confident and inspired

The writing retreat was a lovely experience and I came away feeling that I had achieved something during the day: almost a chapter, but also the chance to share tips and experiences with like-minded people in my area. Laura is so warm and welcoming there was none of the pressure of other writing courses but there were plenty of writing prompts on hand if needed plus tea, coffee delicious lunch, afternoon scone and finally fizz! Thank you Laura - your attention to detail is wonderful.

The prompt boxes from Derbyshire Writing school are fantastic. There are so many different pieces of inspiration from old photographs and train tickets to extracts of writing and random words for you to use. The workbook was so fun to follow and really helped to get my creative juices flowing again when I was struggling for inspiration. The Derbyshire Writing School is also such a welcoming and friendly community and through my writing journey I felt so supported and encouraged by my peers.

Just done my first ever writing workshop with Derbyshire Writing School on Developing a Writing Habit. I really enjoyed the session, lots of information and lots to think about. I highly recommend Derbyshire Writing School courses. I attended their Creating your Poetry Collection course, facilitated by Charlotte Lunn. I had an easy and fantastic experience from signing up through to online attendance. Lots of useful information and resources are shared before and during the course. Charlotte is a brilliant and highly accomplished course facilitator and poet. She generously shared her experience and feedback while encouraging a friendly and supportive atmosphere. I am so glad I attended and got to meet an amazing group of poets.

I loved the 3 week course on putting together a B poetry collection. Charlotte was enthusiastic and passionate about poetry and she shared so much useful info with us. She was helpful and gave us feedback that was positive and honest in a C lovely way. All the participants were considerate and between us we covered a wide range of poetry Because the course was online I was able to meet people from different places around the country that I would not have met. Definitely recommend this course and Derbyshire Writing School to anyone who wants to be a better writer.
