Derwent Hill is an amazing place that helps to grow young children in so many different areas.

I have visited Derwent Hill 4 times with 10-11 year old children, getting ready to move to secondary school, and this centre helps prepare them by improving independence, resilience, teamwork and gives them memories they will remember for the rest of their lives.

The instructors are second to none! They encourage and push the children to do more than they think they ever could. They adapt their plans to the group and weather they have in order to ensure all children get the most out of their time.

I've been in summer winter and early spring and the children enjoyed all times of year.

The food is great given the children choice and the fuel they need for the time ahead.

I throughly recommend this for any children who have the opportunity to come here.

Love coming here! The camping pods are amazing as I’ve been a few times! The first time I came the pods and toilets were a bit more basic however since then there have been some improvements added; e.g hooks in the bathrooms, a boot tray for mud and water etc. It’s in such a good location and about a 15 minute walk from Keswick. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. The only downside is that if you haven’t been to the pods before, getting from the car park to the pods can be a little confusing as they are a bit of a walk on the grounds. Perhaps some signposting to the pods would be better however I love coming here and for the price it is so worth it!

I would just like to thank all of the kind and caring staff who helped us all have an amazing 2 days at Derwent hill if it were not for the staff engaging, encouraging and been so friendly it wouldn't of been the experience we had. Thankyou for accepting autistic children into the plan an making them part of every activity even boating on the lake. my son warren who does not have autism had the best time of his life from climbing, canoeing and trying out the "death swing" haha thankyou again you are all brilliant staff give yourselves a pat on the back.

A great place, experienced and passionate people who run the classes and supervise the tasks.
Clean and well-kept rooms, great food in a really large amount, (full English breakfast, lunch, something different every day, coffee and cake break, 3 course dinner).
Waterproof clothing available in all sizes, equipment needed to get the job done and lots of different actyvietes. You can learn a lot and you definitely will not get bored.

Personally I didn't like it, the food was bad (the chicken they servered was literally pink!!!), the rooms were dirtier then other places and I wasn't a big fan of all the activities but I know the people I went with enjoyed it. I guess it was just not for me! The death swing was good though!

Absolutely fantastic experience yet again! This was my 13th holiday at Derwent Hill and I never get tired of going there. Accommodation, food, staff and activities are second to none. If you enjoy activity holidays then this is the place for you 🙂
