I’ve just done the 4 day workshop course with Jason and now I’m the proud owner of and handmade leather weekend bag. With almost 1000 stitches and 4 days of hard work (with lots of fun and laughs too), this course was actually one of the best craft courses I’ve ever been on.
Jason is obviously a master at his craft, and enjoys sharing his skills and knowledge whilst teaching others in an incredibly friendly and professional way.
I think I’m hooked on leather working, and I’m already planning how to convert my garage into a workshop!
I’d definitely recommend Jason and his courses to anyone who wants to find out more about working with leather. Amazing!!

Wow what can I say - this is my second course with Jason and Diamond Awl leather workshops. First time was a hand bag and enjoyed it so much I wanted more… so signed up for the 4 day weekend bag more intensive course. Jason is so skilled at leatherwork and shares all his Incredible knowledge with patience and encouragement.

You learn so much, explore an ancient craft of hand stitching a beautiful piece of luggage which will last forever. As well as using specialist machines to help with creating your perfect bag.

The days are full of fun chat and skill sharing, plus lots of hard work interspersed with food and brews… the famous 5 fish finger sandwich on Friday was a highlight!

I cannot express how fantastic any experience is with Diamond Awl, 1 day - 7 day courses available. Jason and his lovely talented wife Louise are the best. You will not find better!

I just did the two day course this week (28-29 Jan 25), and it was such a great experience. Jason is a natural teacher and an all round top bloke! You get the opportunity to try out different techniques and methods throughout the two day course, and come away confident to start new projects on your own. I loved making my leather bag, enjoyed myself and learned so much! I now know I can move forward with leather work in any new direction I might choose with confidence that I have the basics down! I would 100% recommend this course to anyone interested in leatherwork. He's a great teacher, and an interesting person. I will very likely return for another class with him in the future.

Wow. I just did the 2 day course with Jason at Diamond Awl and it was brilliant. The information and techniques learned and practiced resulted in me leaving with a beautiful bag and a keen desire to make so much more in beautiful veg tan leather. The £250 fee includes all materials used and lunch both days and so I feel it was excellent value. Jason has a wonderful teaching style; Warm and supportive , reassuring that your small mistakes won’t show in the final product ( they didn’t). I can’t wait to buy some tools and have another go.
If I have any regret it is that I wish I had booked the four day course instead! I might just treat myself to that later this year. It feels like a gift to have learnt from such a master craftsman.

Had a fantastic time on the 4 day course with Jason. My Dad and I had done the one day course in November and fallen in love. Jason is a fantastic teacher and makes you feel confident in what you are doing, whilst always being there to offer expert advice and coaching. An absolutely brilliant four day course. Informative, expert guidance & a very considerate teacher. Day one I had doubts that I could produce the item we were to make. Four days later, Jason’s excellent tuition gave me the gift of joy at seeing what I am capable of with such considered teaching.
