My husband attended Amanda's grooming school after wanting a career change. We chose dogaholic school as the reviews were really good and when speaking to Amanda she was really prompt at coming back with our questions. The dates are really flexible and she also offers payment plans.
My husband came once a week and did the 15 day course whilst training with his mum who is also a groomer.He has gained alot of skills and Amanda was very supportive with the coursework. I would recommend dogaholic school to anyone who wants to train to become a dog groomer

I’ve just completed my 30 day course with a first aid day. I cannot believe the support I have received! The team is fantastic in their delivery in this course. Friendly, laid back and taught in small groups ( unlike where I did my C&G level 2) nothing is ever too much if requested. I would ask to learn a technique or do a certain breed and the next time it would appear in the diary. Facilities are superb as you groom in an actual salon so you learn how a business day flows and the dogs aren’t just mannequins, you can have a challenge if you like as well as have the chance to do rarer dog breeds. The course is a mix of practical and online coursework with 3 practical “ exams”. With an online portfolio you complete on your laptop. You take before and after photos for your grooming diary, keep a log of what you have done over the course and complete units varying from topics like business, welfare and health & safety. You even get a little start up kit too to use over your course. There is a reason why the salon has a good reputation in the town. So in a nutshell if you live in Hucknall or surrounding Nottingham, just do it. You won’t regret it!

I have recently completed my Ipet Dog Grooming through Dog-a-holic. It took place at a local dog grooming salon in Nottingham and I can't rate my experience high enough. Amanda the owner and lady who runs the course was amazing. She is very knowledgable, friendly and welcoming and can provide training days which suit you. I carried out my course whilst working full time and so was able to do so many days per week and tailor to what I needed. I learnt so much and was hands on from day 1 learning how to correctly bath and dry, then all of the grooming techniques on the salons clients along with the written work which covered everything you need to know including dogs anatomy, health and safety and a host of other information. I groomed a whole list of different breeds of dogs and so this gave me a great base. I came out of this training and been very successful in setting up my own little business and have my own clients now. I loved the whole experience and the girls in the salon were great and all were ready to help and advise. The great thing is that I now have Amanda to call and maybe get a little bit of advise when needed so I never feel I'm on my own. I can't recommend this course enough. Get booked on you will not regret it.

I would recommend Dog-a-holic grooming academy to anyone who is thinking of trying dog grooming and wanting a change in career. I cannot thank Amanda enough for the great support she’s given me throughout and it has been the best experience. As a bonus all the staff working there are so lovely! 😊

I completed my Ipet level 3 in dog grooming with dog-a-holic grooming academy and could not recommend them highly enough. My tutor Amanda was very approachable and knowledgeable. Learning in a real life working grooming salon gave me so much valuable experience that I could never of gotten in a classroom. The coursework was very well explained and I got plenty of support from my tutor when needed.
I now feel confident enough to open my own business as a dog groomer and it's thanks to Amanda and all of the other staff at dogaholic grooming academy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking to learn how to be a dog groomer.

A big thank you to all at Dog A Holic grooming Academy for giving me the skills, knowledge and confidence to set up my own business, Amanda was very helpful right from the very first contact, I was given lots of information about the course, I wasn’t rushed into booking my course and was even invited in for a taster day before booking. I had viewed another training place but dog a holic really stood out for me, with its small student numbers and the support the staff give to the students, Amanda and her team are very friendly, calm and patient even with anxious students like myself. Support was always on hand during practical days and even during the theory work.
I can’t recommend Dog-a-holic enough if you are wanting to get qualification in dog grooming. Thank you all so much

I have just completed the iPet Network Level 3 Certificate
Dog Grooming & Introduction to Styling at Dog-a-holic Grooming Academy.
The support I received from Amanda and her team was second to non. Nothing was any trouble…….even when I kept asking the same thing time and time again!
The theory side of the course is quite thorough but the portal was quite easy to access. I really enjoyed learning about the different areas of dog grooming and
Amanda was always at the other end of the phone for a chat or even a video call if I was struggling with anything.
I feel a lot more confident when handling dogs as a groomer now, and I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without the consistent support from Dog-a-holic! Thank you to Amanda & her Team ❤️
