Working at EAW from the start was a great opportunity, I was brought on board to work under their Blue Cross Blue Shield contract as a Customer Care Phone Specialist. It is a remote position, which aligned with my lifestyle at the time and it is convenient for full/part-time students. I wish I had more time to be employed under BCBS AZ as I retained more valuable skillsets with them.

Education at work then shortly announced 7 months later that they were voiding their contract with BCBS AZ and we had either the choice to quit or transfer to an existing contract with Discover Financial Services. (Not much of a choice is it lol?) After me and a majority of student employees transferred, The training process was off to a rough start. I’d like to state the obvious that my entire training wave experienced the worst training with Discover Financial Services contract. To put it plainly, there was little to no communication, too much competition, and flat out unorganized with little structure.

I do not take pleasure in writing a review like this, but there was a huge difference in knowledgable training between Blue Cross Blue Shield and Discover Financial Services. After our training was completed, student employees were left to fend for themselves. Employees started getting picked on and one by one terminated or quit due to the repetitive environment. A workplace that failed to give their employees proper training.

In all honesty, I’d do some research before applying. I enjoyed the former contract I started at EAW with but it drastically changed the moment students had to switch contracts. I was even reached out to outside of work-hours which was extremely unprofessional. For 14.50 an hour I’d say you could do better.

EAW was a great place to work while I finished school. They organized my work schedule around my school schedule and made it really easy to shift or pick up extra hours. The work experience looked great on my resume too, and as a result I was able to land a great job in my field immediately after graduation.

Being a workforce Analyst for Education At Work has been such an amazing experience! My management team has been more flexible and nurturing than any place I have worked in the past. They have invested in me through the ability to further my education within my position, but also grow my knowledge as an analyst that previous positions i've held never offered. Though every place of employment has its ups and downs and moments that test you... EAW has shown me those tests make me stronger and as well as more confident in my abilities and has been a blessing. I'm glad they have allowed me to be a part of their team.

You get what you put into this. that is my best advice to anyone considering EAW as a career path to help with school and get experience in the working world. This has been one of the most rewarding, Incredible, and fulfilling paths I have ever taken in my life. I started through EAW's blue cross blue shield program as a customer service representative, I moved to trainer, and am now proudly a supervisor/trainer hybrid role.

Don't think about this decision long, just pull the cord. come see for yourself why i can't recommend this Business opportunity enough. It will change your life, your education, and your core self. This is your next, best, step forward, I promise you that.

I would not recommend this job to any student applying. It starts off well, the pay seems good and the schedule flexible. About a month after I started working here they dropped our pay from $12/hr to minimum wage ($7.25) plus incentives which came as a shock and while we asked to be sent a new contract from HR we never got an answer. The incentives are based on how many cases you close and it is hard to close these cases because their training is so insufficient. The managing is extremely disorganized and overall not very supportive.

Highly recommend against applying here for anyone who is seeking 40hr weekly schedule. The first two weeks of training were fairly weak and barely covered what was needed for the job. The job is okay if you’re looking for something flexible, but only as a last resort. I learned nearly nothing from training. The TA I heard is fairly difficult to get with constant errors. The management is pretty bad with giant updates like removing wfh and giving the employees about 10 days to make big changes to their schedule to accommodate in-office work. They went as far as parading the removal as a benefit for the employees, which it wasn’t. The job markets itself as remote but it is not, they say remote but they really mean remote after a few months and if you are meeting high stats. The company prides itself in five stars and does not care for the agent. They ask that agents provide empathy for customers but fail to empathize with its own staff. The company is not professional which was nice because it felt like real people, but then back fired because when phone stats dropped one of the supervisors said the phone agents should be ashamed of themselves and should take it personally. I left because this place was just too much. Having to deal with horrible leadership, no benefits, overtime because your shift ends whenever the chat you are on does, and supervisors who will outright insult you was just not worth it. I worked at horrible places like Amazon understaffed facilities during Covid and this easily matches the amount of stress.

For anyone looking into applying, you can try it out and see if you’ll have a better experience, but I know they took away work from home completely now and are constantly begging for people to take more hours (probably due to how many people quit). Enjoy being spammed and coached 24/7. One more thing, they said we were cross trained but never actually trained us for both. I wish anyone working here, all the best because you’re sure going to need it.
