I was denied any form of communication or access to the Nursery's portal and/or Facebook group to monitor and check and receive updates associated to the Nursery and on my daughter. My interaction with Emma was characterised by rudeness, intimidation, and obnoxious behaviour. However, the remaining staff members were commendable.

Emma denied access based on my absence from the contract, despite my demonstration of responsibility as the child's father. Other nurseries I consulted confirmed Emma's uncooperative demeanor. Her email indicated that although I am the "NRP," I am not listed on the "Contract," which I found to be an unreasonable protocol.

I suspect that this immediate denial stemmed from direct correspondence between Emma and the mother, both of whom seemed intent on excluding the father from involvement.

Only after threatening a formal complaint, as per their procedure, and escalating the matter to Ofsted, was my application granted.

Due to the delay in receiving any access or correspondence, I missed my Daughter’s first ever nativity which still haunts me to this day.

For non-residential parents (NRPs), I strongly advise understanding your rights and not allowing yourself to be intimidated into limited contact.
