Our dogs Teddy and Tucker were in residential training with Essex dog trainer for 2 weeks, we couldn’t recommend them enough!

Me and my partner moved in together beginning of September, we have two male dogs (golden retriever and a parson terrier X breed), they got on for 2 days perfectly well behaved until my partners dog (golden retriever) bit my dog for trying to play with a ball with him, which resulted in Teddy having to be brought to an emergency vets with an open wound. We have tried our best to reconnect them. Nothing had worked due to the torcher issue that has been rosed on my dog. He barks and growls all the time, he has trust issues with male humans and now big dogs he only gets along with female dogs

Alex and his team intervened with us quickly, the dogs were in training the following week. I couldn’t thank them enough! We are so grateful for choosing these guys! They gave us regular updates with how they were doing which put our minds to ease. Alex and his trainers created a great bond as well as environment for them both. As well as teaching us how to be better and to continue the training at home, they spent 1 hr with us just going through the whole process of getting the dogs

After leaving we took both dogs to pets at home for a walk around and then went on a long 1 hr walk and they still continued to be very good.

We will be back for one to one sessions and group sessions to refresh their training!

We were looking for a trainer for our doberman tried a couple before we found Alex Cooper and Essex dog trainer , best decision ever , our dog has come such a long way with Alex we couldn't have gotten a better trainer who really loves his work and your dog .
We have boarded him with Alex for intensive numerous times and each time our dog comes back better and better and we have also learnt so much more about training ourselves as Alex explains and demonstrates it so well .
If you have any concerns re training Alex Cooper at Essex dog trainer is for you dont waste your time and money with other trainers .

We have been working with Alex for the past few months and I am super impressed with my dog’s progress.

Alex has shown us how to better spend our time together, learn in a more structured way, progress patiently for faster gains and most importantly… have fun! My pup is enjoying obedience, he is happy to work, his drive has increased significantly and our relationship is on another level.

We have also used the boarding school services for when we have been away and our pup came back even better trained. Alex’s team have been so friendly, really approachable and I can see how our dog loves spending time with them.

After seeing various trainers around the country, we can say Alex and his team are by far the best dog trainers in the UK for us.

Could not recommend Alex highly enough! 1st started my dog training journey with him a few years ago with my Doberman juke who was very dog reactive, anxious, no recall and huge lead puller. After just 2 sessions a year apart and all the homework inbetween I could walk juke off lead anywhere in public with a perfect recall and he would happily go on pack walks with other dogs ignoring them. Sadly he died young and since owning my new puppy Bruno I see Alex most weeks and at 2 years old he’s already the perfect dog. We’re training for his BH test and work on protection and I could not be happier. The best thing about training with Alex for me is that he teaches me the owner so I can practice it all with my dog and build an exceptional bond. Jack and keeley are also both excellent dog trainers and I often recommend all 3 to anyone who stops and asks how I got Bruno so well behaved.

I attended this weekend for a two hour session with Alex. In that time Alex explained how to understand the dog and how they make choices. I watched him work with my 7mth old cane corso and stop her pulling within about 20 minutes but, mostly where I was going wrong and how to amend my technique. I left feeling very confident in how to work with her and feel her move and catch it when she moves off. The knowledge Alex shares with you is thorough his calmness and relaxed approach around the dog was great. I really took a lot away to work with and think about and so far it’s been great. I was lucky to see some of the competition trained dogs working and it was very impressive. 100% recommend Alex if you are serious about understanding your dog. In terms of training and understanding training , for me, money well spend and worth every penny.

I came to see Alex for a protection session but also covered sport-style obedience in our initial session.

The knowledge that Alex has is absolutely invaluable, I learned more in the 2 hours I was with him than the months I had spent at a dog sports club! My shepherd can be a little anxious around new people, but had no issues being around Alex whatsoever. Alex knew exactly how to read him, which was so relaxing to be around.

I genuinely couldn't have been happier with our session, and I left feeling so excited to get everything that I had learned to practice!! I would highly recommend 🙂

Alex was amazing with our Belgian Shepherd. As soon as he saw the way he behaved and was handled, he instantly knew some of the issues we might be facing.

Really easy to follow instructions as the handler, extremely knowledgeable in his field and had my dog eating out of the palm of his hand...literally.

Completely made me feel at ease, and gave me amazing things to work on when I get home. Couldn't praise him enough, especially as we have seen a couple of dog trainers before and have always come away feeling extremely disappointed. I will for sure be booking more sessions, and I look forward to seeing the progress our boy has made!
