When choosing a teacher training provider I had several extra hoops to jump through as I was coming from outside the UK but the team at Exeter Consortium were amazing, helped talk me through everything I needed to do and prepare and were super supportive from the very first email. Their responsiveness and eagerness to help was a big part of what made me choose to train with them and I'm so glad I did. They were incredibly supportive at every step of the way, from the initial training sessions, to any problems we may have encountered during the year, to helping with interview preparation and personal statements.

The best teacher training provider in the south west! They are so incredibly supportive. They go above and beyond to make sure you're okay and solve any issues that crop up.

Your placement begins straight away meaning you are in the classroom as an adult for the children on their first day. This allowed me to build great relationships with the children at the very beginning.
The GPS sessions are always interactive and informative, you always leave with great ideas to use in your placement.

Could not recommend enough! I'm incredibly grateful to be on such an amazing course with such supportive providers.

Having just finished my teacher training with Exeter Consortium, I couldn’t recommend their programme more to those who are interested in becoming a primary school teachers. A lot of love goes into this course, and throughout my training year, I was unbelievably supported. Louise was incredibly helpful during the onboarding process and made everything very easy, especially as I am based in North Devon, not Exeter. Dawn and Sara were always willing to help and answered all my questions promptly. I loved both of my placement schools here in North Devon, and have fortunately secured an ECT role in my home placement school. I truly believe that Exeter Consortium have helped me achieve this, and when I look back on the year I’ve had, I’m amazed at how much I have learnt. To top it off, I have also made some friends for life.

If you are considering doing your Teacher Training with Exeter Consortium, I urge you to take the plunge and do it! I’ve just completed my QTS & PGCE (Summer ‘23) and I couldn’t have wished for a more supportive team of highly experienced professionals to learn from. The organisational culture is warm and caring, and the wonderful team go above and beyond to help you be be successful and happy. The training curriculum is well thought out, organised and full of fascinating subjects and amazing visiting tutors and speakers. I can confirm that you will grow your skills, knowledge and understanding exponentially, and this course will shape you into the skilful, reflective teacher you hope to be. You will spend plenty of time in schools, working alongside teachers and with children, to develop your practice. I’m short, I can wholeheartedly recommend Exeter Consortium - they run absolutely brilliant teacher training courses.

Exeter consortium is the best teacher training provider within the south west. There has constantly been excellent provision and pastoral care throughout the board. As a trainee, I feel supported with everything that I do. The fact that you start placement right from the very start of the academic year means you gain so much more valuable experience than you would from a PGCE, this means you rarely feel lost, you are teaching more frequently and understand the dynamics of the school far better. Not to mention, employers really take note of this! The GPS sessions are incredibly useful, you pick up so many interesting and helpful techniques to use into your own practise. You also strive from the support and friendships you make on the cohort as well, with it being a smaller size, you get to know everyone and your confidence shines through. Although teacher training can be difficult, you never feel alone
