I signed up with George about 7 months ago. I used to enjoy going to the gym but lost all my confidence in 2020 and hoped the PT led small group classes would help me regain that! Well it did more than that. My confidence is back, I've achieved all the goals I set last year and the support received from George and the others who attend is something else. I would be confident to hit the gym on my own again now, but I have so much fun that I remain part of team G! I recommend this to anyone, whatever your level and whatever your reason for wanting to get active and fit.I know G will support me to achieve the new goals of 2025 as he does all the members and I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and into his circle.

George has been such a motivation in helping me to reach my goals. I feel more confident than ever in how I look and feel.
The group sessions are great and everyone is so encouraging.
I was pretty nervous when I first started but George took time to explain the exercises and makes sure technique is right before starting to increase the weights.

I can't recommend George enough. He's polite, professional, fun, entertaining, experienced, passionate and extremely knowledgeable in his field.

I signed up to George's 8 week team session post through a Facebook advert after previously going to the gym for 6 months and seeing no change in myself. Within that 8 weeks I noticed and felt a massive change visibly and physically. George was always there at the end of the phone with the knowledge, tools and experience to help with food advice and recipes for good nutrition and an extensive work out library for all body areas in his app. If you have underlying injuries, George will help strengthen the affected area and find alternative exercises within class so you can carry on training to reach your goals and not make it worse.

If you are passionate, upfront and know exactly what you want and where you want to be with your goals, George is your man to get you there, your goal is his goal.

George is an amazing Personal Trainer. He listens and understands. I’ve worked with other PTs and given up after a short time. George has kept me on track and motivated. His Small Group PTs are hard work but so rewarding. I wouldn’t be ready to start another year of exercise without George.

I joined George’s small group PT sessions in January and genuinely cannot overstate the impact they’ve had on my lifestyle and health.

I’ve never stuck to a routine in the gym or built healthy habits I can maintain before joining George’s sessions. I was always getting injured and in pain with autoimmune arthritis, but George’s knowledge, advice and attention to detail when training has left me pain free with no flare ups since I started !!

The sessions are fun, varied and sociable - I’ve met some great people and taken part in a Tough Mudder and a 10K with others from the group.

If someone told me a year ago that I’d be willingly setting 5am alarms to train, I would never have believed them! Would 100% recommend George to anyone looking to get fitter, faster, stronger, or just regain their motivation in a laidback, friendly and safe environment.

I started training with George about 8 months ago, I had gone from a period of not training at all and giving up restrictive dieting. When I felt ready to re-start my fitness journey I did not know where to start.
I came across george from a recommendation and I have not looked back since!

I’m confidently lifting weights, building strength and tone and shape- not bulk as is commonly miss thought when women do weights.

I eat well and have learnt all about balance and enjoyment rather than restriction. I love the small group environment and have come along way.

I can 100% recommend George! 💪🏻

Over the last couple of years I've really got into running and have been increasing the distances. I was unsuccessfully trying to lose weight and was constantly getting minor injuries then last year I ended up with a bad injury and was out of action for 4 months. I was really fed up and becoming so unmotivated. Everyone kept giving me the same advice 'do strength training' and 'you can't out run a bad diet'. That was great, but I had absolutely no idea where to start with any of it. The Google searches were so overwhelming, and I felt way too embarrassed to ask.

So 4 months ago I made enquiries online and had a consultation with George Murphy, luckily he was able to fit me in that same day. I've always dreaded the idea of a personal trainer but it was honestly the best decision I've ever made!! We discussed my injuries, goals and what his PT package could offer. He's tailored it all to suit my goals, lifestyle and work life and worked alongside my physio to avoid further injuries. Doing shift work always makes managing the nutritional side really difficult, but he has been there offering his knowledge, ideas and support to make small, but very important, changes that are sustainable long term.

George is not only very knowledgeable and a great coach, he is really easy to get on with and is a genuinely nice guy. He’s taught me so much about nutrition, fitness, strength and conditioning training. He’s given me recommendations on sports running gels, nutrition advice for the week leading up to a long distance run and training plans. He's given me so much support, encouragement and motivation, especially with the running and strength training. He's genuinely interested and really cares about how I have got on. He regularly checks in and gets just as excited as I do when I hit my targets and get PB’s! Last month I managed to knock off 23 minutes on a very hilly half marathon compared to last year and I keep improving my PBs in other distances!

I love the group PT sessions, they are really challenging, lots of variety and most importantly they are always great fun. He thoroughly explains and demonstrates each exercise and makes sure I have the correct techniques and regularly encourages me to go out of my comfort zone to make sure I get the most out of each session. He sets up regular challenges for the group, leads a weekly run and does weekly check-ins to make sure we're on track. He’s developed various education guides and workouts that we have access to via the App, which are really useful.

Thanks to George, I'm seeing such great results. I’m starting to lose weight, I feel stronger and healthier not just physically, but also mentally and I'm finally getting my confidence back. Not forgetting I’m now smashing all my PBs in running!

I first started with George in the small group PT sessions in late February and can say it's made a huge difference! I have formed some great habits, including going to the gym at least twice every week and some weeks 3 or 4 times, eating well most days and maintaining muscle mass and weight. I am much more confident than I was when I first started, which George was and is integral to, making sure the movements I do are correct and pushing me to lift heavier when appropriate. He notices things that you perhaps wouldn't, for example, that I have intonation when I am running, which was causing me back pain but I had no idea. He's also been fabulous with questions and queries I've had out of sessions, including nutrition and recipes for me to try, involving high protein with a mostly vegan diet, which keeps things interesting. The resources that are on his app are also great as they give you lots of information on a variety of topics in bitesized pieces so you don't have to trawl through the Internet yourself. There's also some great recipe booklets and info guides, as well as "how to's" on certain exercises with video aids, which are great if you are just starting out or wanting to do lone sessions. The small groups that I join are ideal, as i've made some friends in there that I wouldn't have made otherwise as we share common interests and push eachother to do better. The sessions themselves are stimulating, and George swaps the exercises out to keep things interesting (even if I don't like wall balls, i love the variety!!). He sets things up with the group as well outside of the sessions such as this year we did tough mudder as a PT group and some others have signed up to run a 10k later this year.
My main concern going into this was my own motivation and tracking my diet as it's something i've struggled with in the past, but this process has made me learn a lot of things about myself, as well as nutrition and exercise, that I wouldn't have otherwise learned or known. My main goals going into this was generally being more active, feeling confident and liking how I looked, and can say all of those areas have had significant improvements. On top of that, I feel healthier and am giving my body the nutrients it needs, rather than just eating for sustenance. I would definitely recommend george's sessions to other people who aren't confident going to the gym, or just need that guidance if you arent familiar with certain terms or exercises, as well as having a community to support you along your journey, whatever that looks like for you!
