Greenland Hotel in Hensley delivers an impeccable experience right from the moment you step through the doors. The reception staff provides a first-class welcome, setting the tone for a stay filled with thoughtful touches and attention to detail. Their care in ensuring that your room preference is met with precision and satisfaction is truly commendable.

Breakfast feels like stepping into a luxurious six-star setting, with staff dressed as if they were on a fashion runway—especially the women, who exude both elegance and style. After years of traveling and enjoying countless croissants in various countries, I can confidently say that the one here stands above the rest. Perfectly paired with a homemade mix of black mulberry and tart apple-strawberry jam, the balance of flavors was extraordinary.

Hats off to the management and staff for creating such a memorable stay. And let me not forget to mention—the room’s hygiene level was an impeccable 10 out of 10. Simply outstanding.

This place is not welcoming at all. You can’t just walk in to enjoy coffee or food like other hotels; you have to register for safety reasons. The receptionist was rude, hiding behind her screen and refusing to provide any information. When she finally did look up, she acted as if we should have known about the registration process. If the place is so highly secured, why didn’t she even bother to check or ask who walked in?

We somehow ended up in an accessible room, that was quite large. Quite good breakfast.
The bar/restaurant hours are quite limited. The hotel has a water taxi mooring but you'll need a car to be able to move around the area.
Checkout time is 9am which could be considered quite early but the staff was able to give some extra time
We visited for the Rewind festival: remember to double and triple check in advance the days and hours of the water taxi service by Hobbs of Henley if you plan to use it, as in our case nobody was able to provide reliable information.

Great location next to the River Thames.
Staff were all very friendly & helpful.
( particularly Galina who was super friendly and helpful at breakfast time nothing was to much trouble for her.)
The evening meals both in the restaurant and in the bar were both of excellent quality and great value.
The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable.
We would definitely return to this hotel.

Went to a wedding reception here and stayed in a room for 2 nights. It's in an idyllic setting, which is spirituality elevating. Administration is really efficient and personable. Food was really so good and allergies and intolerances well provided for. On top of all that the staff were extremely eager to help, pleasant and friendly. I could live there.
