Been using Gym etc for a few years now, used to go to Orrell but as I got a new gym in Lowton, switched to Lowton Gym. Was paying £28.99 for a monthly membership which I thought was a bit steep, £25.00 was a better price when they had it set at that. It then recently increased to £30.99 due to “improved equipment”. Yet there always seems to be equipment out of order. Not to forgot the once a year charge of I think it’s £25.00

There is not enough equipment if you go at peak evening times, always fighting for a spot on something. Due to equipment not working or there not being enough of something. Was in this morning (6.30am) as it is better than going after work, and 2 out of the 3 cable machines were out of order. If your membership increase due to be improved equipment, you’d expect the equipment to actually work.

The gym and female changing rooms are always nice and clean first thing in the morning, can tell the cleaner and staff are putting a good graft in first thing in the morning.

The spa facilities are okay, if you want to go swimming you will need to check timetables and try out a few different times because you can comfortably get 4 people in the pool doing laps(that’s at a push).

Most of the staff are nice and welcoming, usually say good morning and goodbye and can often see people having a good laugh with the staff at the front desk which gives it a nice feel of community.

Good for a local gym if you aren’t going at peak times but the cost is not justified for its standard.

The gym is overall offering a good selection of equipment suitable for all fitness needs. The swimming pool is spacious, making it ideal for both serious swimmers and those looking to relax, and the bubble bath adds a lovely touch of luxury. The steam room is well-maintained and perfect for relaxing after a gym session.
However, the one major downside is the choice of music. The jukebox is always overbooked - constantly blasting rock music. Same songs every day are quite annoying. A more varied and inclusive playlist would really elevate the experience and make the atmosphere more enjoyable for all. No wonder so many members are wearing headphones, that speaks a volume and confirms my feedback...

I've been a member of GymEtc for almost 2 years. It's more than a gym it's a hub and a Community asset! I joined with my friend Chris as soon as I moved to the area of Lowton. It's a fabulous place where I've met lots of friends and continue to do so. The reception staff are friendly, very helpful,they care about their clients!There's no question I will be a member for many years to come! I particularly love the aqua aerobics class where we have a whole lot of fun exercising with like minded people.

Okay for a local gym, although can get quite busy at times (especially when they have swimming lessons on). Also, some of the equipment is in dire need of refurbishment.

Been going 3 times a week for over a month now, wish I’d have signed up sooner. Never too busy, staff seem lovely, good sized car park. Seem to have all the equipment you could want + classes too.

Lowton gym is fantastic. Great staff, great trainers, great classes A+ and great equipment.
Only improvements I’d make is add a large clock in the studio as watching time is a motivator. Also add some jacketed hangers.
