Great paddle today, lovely to be back on the water. Facilities here are very much improved and there are many systems in place to keep everyone safe. Great job guys.

The staff and members here are very welcoming and there are so many course being run by the staff from sailing to paddling, you get it all. The courses are all suitable for younger children up to retired adults.

If you have an interest in outdoor activities, give this place a go.

Great place for water sports, volunteers were really helpful and supportive. Kids had good fun on Ring boarding. You can BBQ next to lake at the given place in centre. Around the lake, loads of places for walking, running and biking. No shops nearby, so do ensure to carry own food and drinks.

My 9yr old has just completed his RYA Level 2 on the 5day course this week at Hawley Lake.
He has had such a lovely week on the water. The instructors were so professional and kind. They are real credit to the lake. I highly recommend the centre. looking forward to more courses in the future.

Fantastic RYA Level 2 Dinghy Course Experience at Hawley Lake Sailing Centre!
My adult son and I recently completed the RYA Level 2 Dinghy Sailing course at Hawley Lake Sailing Centre, and while learning a huge amount it was a fun weekend for both of us.
Michelle, our instructor, was outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. She ensured that we felt comfortable on the water and progressed at our own pace. Despite having different levels of experience, my son and I were able to learn and improve our skills together, thanks to their tailored approach to teaching. The way they broke down each concept made everything easy to understand, whether it was handling the boat, understanding the wind, or performing maneuvers.
Hawley Lake itself is a beautiful and safe environment for learning, with plenty of space to practice and perfect our skills. We always felt well looked after, and safety was a top priority, without ever feeling overwhelming.
By the end of the course, both my son and I felt confident and competent in handling a dinghy independently. It was not only a great learning experience but also a wonderful bonding opportunity for the two of us. We’re already excited to continue sailing and couldn’t recommend Hawley Lake Sailing Centre more highly for anyone looking to start or advance their sailing journey.
We left the course feeling accomplished and inspired, with memories that will last a lifetime. A huge thanks for making this such an enjoyable and rewarding experience!
