No frills Gym, has the essentials for a good workout and not too busy so far in the summer holidays.

The male changing rooms look a bit tired but contrary to some other reviews I've read, the Showers are warm and actually quite good 👍🏻

I may have found my new regular Gym.

Oh and Alex at the front desk has always been welcoming and helpful which makes a massively good impression.

My experience at this gym has been absolutely terrible. For the money I paid, I endured disrespect, neglect, passive-aggressive behaviour, and sarcastic comments. The staff showed no responsibility towards their clients, and on top of that, the gym itself was cold and dirty. Based on my extremely negative experience, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The Haydon Centre is a fairly charming gym and community centre. I have been attending fitness classes there for several years, but they also offer a gym, sports court & multi-function room. There are a range of classes on offer, from fitness or hatha yoga, barre fit, Tai Chi & pilates to strength training/circuits. Most of these are modestly sized, friendly groups. Unfortunately there is only one group cycle class per week at present - and it's in the evening - so, difficult for me to get to that one.

The building itself could do with a bit of updating, but they are actively working on it, with renovations planned for one of the fitness studios in the next few weeks. The ladies' toilets need some work also, and the fitness studio floors sometimes need a more frequent sweeping. (I only mention these minor issues in the spirit of providing a fair, balanced review.) The front desk should be monitored as well - there's often nobody in attendance when I need to speak to a member of staff. However, I suspect they are just busy, and the team are friendly when I do manage to locate someone!

The majority of the freelance fitness instructors are very decent and it's a pleasure to attend their classes. I understand that Haydon Centre management treat their instructors well also, which is important.

Finally, the Haydon Centre is for the community as well as the fitness crowd - they often host events, coffee mornings and children's parties. I enjoy going there for fitness classes, and will continue with my monthly membership.

As a visitor to the Better Haydon centre I was disgusted by the state at the ladies toilet.
1 toilet didn't have a lock on it,another one the toilet roll holder didn't have a cover, another the sanitary bin was over flowing.
No soap in the soap dispenser and when I went to reception to talk about it there was no-one there I waited a while but still no-one to speak to.

Haydon Wick Bowls Club is behind the Haydon centre near Morrisons. The summer season has nearly come to an end, and I am now looking forward to the club finals. We have free coaching on Mondays from 1800hrs during the season. Haydon Wick also has a petangue( Boules) piste. This has got very popular, and it's played every Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 am, all year round. Don't be shy. Come along and enjoy the friendliness of this club.

Robbery and disappointment
We made a reservation for today, to use their indoor basketball court. But when we went we saw that it was closed and paid £30 for nothing. Waste of time with our friends. No notification received. Never rely them. Keep away.
