A great destination for a wet day. We spent 3 hours there in the cafe & bookshop. The Homety Pie is delicious with a great accompanying salad. Browse and sit a while in the bookshop. Ideal place to stock up on birthday cards and small gifts. There's a great range of jigsaws if that floats your boat.

What a great bookshop! Very reasonable prices too! Had all your usual categories and set out a bit like a library. Loved the kids/educational area. As well as books there were gifts and jewellery. Again not over the top prices. The toilets are fitted with a smaller toilet for the little one. Each one has its own theme. We arrived on spec just before closing at 5pm Sunday afternoon. The only reason we stopped as we saw the sign for a cafe. Hubby can have a coffee and I could have a browse. Unfortunately the girl at the counter was a bit unfriendly telling hubby that they're were all cleaned up and no longer serving in an abrupt manner. A smile and saying sorry would have been nicer. Despite this I definitely would come again and not before closing. Next time I'll have something to eat. The reviews are really positive.

Served nice food when I've visited but why o why do you let people spend all day on a laptop drinking one cup of coffee. I've waited a while to be seated while watching people do their work on laptops. Time to go laptop free and free the place up for someone thats going to spend money on food and drink not just one coffee. You serve nice food in a lovely cafe, not a work office.

This is such a lovely place for lunch. The food is delicious, tasty and fresh, and the atmosphere and staff are lovely. Even better is their kids menu- great options even for fussy eaters without the need to buy a huge meal for them (my little ones love the toast with marmite). They also have kids magazines and high chairs. Highly recommend the soup with fresh bread. The salad with the baked potatoes is also really delicious! All very reasonably priced too. One of our favourite stops in the peaks.

Absolutely love this magical book shop and I happened upon it the first time, quite by accident.

I've been wanting to visit again for ages and was delighted to get back there last weekend.

It's an absolute must-visit for book lovers and the cafe is fab too, though I didn't get to sample its delights this time as the queues were enormous thanks to it being a rainy Sunday.

I'll definitely be back, my only wish is that they had a bigger spiritual/occult section!

Lovely bookshop, beautiful books. Lots of gifts too.
The cafe serves good food, but the staff could be a little more attentive to those waiting to be seated. We were left waiting, (where asked near the bird food) when others were being seated from other entrances. Quite frustrating.

What a lovely suprise. Was on route to an event and after a Google search this cafe was near by for a refreshment stop and what a quirky gem. ? I love places out the box and this definately was . A bookstore & cafe with lots of handmade gifts, cards, every type of book available, jigsaws, models etc and even loo's with a view with some fab finishing touches - how fantastic! ?This is obviously a converted garage/station with the memrobilia situated on the walls in the cafe. I couldn't believe how busy this little place was. Have already recommended to my Biker friends & family who travel out this way to call in by to see it for themselves , however the only downside is the newly laid gravel carpark especially for motorcycles.

Oct 24, still he same lovely quirky cafe with a friendly pleasant service as it was on my last visit and still busy with sometimes having to wait for a table to become available in the cafe. Have visited the bookstore twice this month arriving on motorcycles to which none of us encountered any problems with parking as the gravel has now become hard and compact ? ?
