Choose your coach wisely. Some are very good, others, totally disinterested and either not prepared, or not willing, to instruct. Advice to parents is to observe a lesson before enrolling your child. Fun shouldn't come at the expense of learning the game - good teachers do both.

I have 2 kids at this club and one spends most of her time on the side lines. Both coaches seem disinterested and neither instruct. I’ve taken both of my kids out now.

Highgate is the best tennis club I have ever joined, friendly and welcoming with a great mix of people. There is tennis for all levels, from beginners coaching and social play through to team training and matches against other clubs, and a fun and competitive singles ladder for every standard. I find the atmosphere very laid back compared to other clubs, and the setting is a green oasis of tennis and cricket clubs. There is always someone to chat to in the clubhouse, great Thai food and bar run by lovely people. On a summers day (and the occasional winters one) it is possible to spend the whole day at Highgate without even realising you have done so, hitting and chatting and eating and drinking, and maybe hitting some more. In club tournament time we spend long summer evenings sitting outside watching the matches with a glass of wine in hand, I love that time of year. We do play all year round, and I also look forward to Winter League season, the weather conditions can sometimes be questionable but the spirit is always there! Apart from the friendly welcome I initially joined because of the great under 30s discount, but have stayed beyond that as it's just my second home. The girls from my team are brilliant, I feel like I have made friends for life, and I met my partner almost 5 years ago (on court 3!) at Highgate. Cannot recommend Highgate highly enough.

I joined HTC in April 2015 and I have not regretted it for one moment. I was welcomed with open arms and everybody was so friendly from the first minute. I met several players at the same level (and higher) and managed to improve my game a lot. While there are really good players out there the atmosphere is very laid back.

Matches against other clubs, several club ladders, various tournaments over the year and social tennis - the club offers some organised tennis for everybody.

Besides excellent facilities (9 floodlit hard courts, two of which have been refurbished recently and 4 clay courts) the club also has a clubhouse with amazing Thai food.

Inclusive tennis surpassed my expectations, from the booking process to the sessions. The team are receptive, professional and friendly.
Great coaches with a natural flare and love for their profession whom are able to get the best out of children despite difference or disability.😀

Great tennis club, good social and competitive play for all levels throughout the year with a bar and tasty Thai food. Located in a very unique scenic spot in London, highly recommended!

You could play tennis anywhere: any club, any park. You could play in ladders,
matches, tournaments or get good coaching in many locations. You could go to
quizzes, socials, parties or have a drink and meal after your game at any
number of clubhouses that might even be fancier than ours. What you get at
Highgate is all of that, but it's unique. I've played tennis since I was very
young, at many different clubs, and what distinguishes Highgate club is the
people: this is the friendliest and most down to earth club I know; it's just
full of really interesting people who come together as a community. If you're
looking for good tennis, there's good tennis - but if you're looking for a
great bunch you'll enjoy knowing and hanging out with too, then I'd highly
recommend you join Highgate!

Great tennis and cricket club in north London. Idyllicly situated in Crouch end playing fields. The club is surrounded by a number of others small clubs. The tennis is well supported and there is an excellent Thai chef cooking great food for the members and visitors.
