This was simply and exceptional site which was beautiful, relaxing and down with nature. We stayed in Orchard Yurt which has its own private garden, amazing outdoor under cover kitchen with literally everything and private shower and toilet. Plenty of wood in the store and we just loved sitting outside late into the night with the fire pit on. So glad to go to a site where you don’t have the intrusion of dogs off leads please keep it this way. Amazing experience we loved it. Thanks so much for a lovely , relaxing and special 5 days .

It was the hottest weekend of the year when we gathered to celebrate our friend's significant birthday. She's a camper but we're not, so yurts were perfect. The site commands fabulous views over pigs and a bank of jolly ox-eye daisies to the rolling countryside beyond. The yurts are very comfortably appointed with all you could need. We slept really well and then decamped when the heat of the day became too much to the hammocks outside. The kitchen was great for preparing our communal meals which we ate en massed outside the communal yurt. It was too hot even at night to have to use that. The loos and showers were excellent- clean and discreet. The beach was a few minutes drive away, and there were good walks from the yurts. We will be back.

Had a fantastic 3 nights at Hunger Hill. The whole site is beautiful with wood and sheets in lovely colours - blues, pinks and greens - that are reminiscent of the lovely Devon spring flowers. There are five yurts in a lovely spacious, sloping field with great views so no chance of it feeling crowded. The Yurts are comfortable and spacious and full of lovely Moroccan carved furnishings and Malian textiles. The lovely hot shower were just a few steps away and the kitchen is well equipped with a proper double cooker and oven and plenty of pans, crockery and cutlery. We grilled fresh fish on our fire and lazed in the hammock and enjoyed the pigs, chickens and dogs. Chris, Sue and family were quietly welcoming and helpful. So peaceful. I am a convert to the yurt.

Beautiful, picturesque location. Clean and well maintained. Friendly and helpful. The yurts are sympathetically arranged to allow for privacy yet at the same time, lending themselves to mixing with other holiday makers. With only 5 yurts, space is never an issue. There is plenty of space for children to run around and make their own adventures and come back for some fireside cooking! There is a well equipped kitchen if a hob and stove is more your cooking comfort zone. Personally, we like cowboy cooking! There is WiFi access but it is limited due to the landscape but we never miss it. This was our 4th year here and we are coming back! We travel quite a distance to come but it is so worth it. Chris is just lovely. Make this top of your list to visit! Oh, and there is plenty to see and do if you can pull yourself out of the hammocks!

I’m so embarrassingly late with this review, life just got in the way after our return from Hunger Hill Yurts. We spent a week in the Orchard Yurt, where we were unlucky with the weather but lucky to have found such a lovely place to stay. Chris was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed BBQs and the fire in the evenings, plus the wood burner inside the yurt was very welcome when it got chilly. The only thing I would have found really useful was storage for clothing. We’ve stayed in a yurt elsewhere which had a wardrobe and it meant less chaos inside! However, next time, I’ll be better prepared. Thanks Chris, hope to see you again!

I looked at Trip Advisor before we visited and saw the 5.0 rating and having visited could not agree more. We (myself, husband and children 11 and 8) had a fabulous 5 days. The campsite is idyllic, the Yurts are gorgeous and comfortable and we loved the fire pit and hammocks. The communal kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped, bright and clean and the communal yurt was perfect for rainy meals and games. We will visit again.

Chris has really thought of everything. My partner and I had a fabulous, last minute weekend away and we were very sad to leave. You literally just have to buy your food as everything you could possibly need is there. Our yurt was great, we had our own stove, gas bottle and kettle plus a box full of essential plates, cups and cutlery, 6 of each so perfect for a family. Outside each yurt is a fire pit, two hammocks and a picnic bench with additional chairs. Chris includes a box of fire lighters which came in handy too. I had read previous reviews of breakfast that you can order, £20 for 2 people and it’s delivered by 8am to your yurt. I’ve included a pic above of what you get, though they also offer a cooked breakfast but after a bbq the continental option was welcoming. There is an abundance of firewood on site with an axe. It was a bit cold and we got through plenty. The axe comes in handy to chop smaller pieces for your indoor log burner. There’s also a yurt in the centre full of tables chairs and a sofa if you want to socialise or if the weather isn’t so great. There is a shared kitchen full of fridges, a large oven and lots of extras should you need them. There are also two hot showers, toilets and two sinks with hand soap and towels. Sidmouth is a 10 minute drive and Exmouth around 15 minutes. We cannot wait to return. What more could you want, a lot burner, bbq and star gazing as there’s no light pollution. Thanks Chris for a wonderful stay, we will see you again x
