Our son attends Independence Project and has done for over 2 years, he very happy there and takes part in most of the activities and trips. This year he went to Spain with the team and had a fantastic time, we were apprehensive about sending him as it was the first time he has been abroad without us. Looking at the photograph's taken , it’s obvious that he is well cared for and very happy. Knowing how we were feeling, the team kept us updated daily. Now that he is home, he can’t wait to go away with the team and his friends again. Thank you all at Independence Project and Clubs.

Our son loves to go to Independence Project one day a week. They offer a wide variety of activities and experiences and respond flexibly to the needs of the people they support. There is a real ‘can do’ attitude with people being encouraged to be their best selves and have plenty of opportunities to develop their skills and independence. Our son has taken part in additional leisure/social activities they offer, making friends, developing relationships and broadening his interests. Each weekend he is eager to find out what he will be doing at his next session - it’s a highlight of his week!!

As a father of a young adult who attends the Independence project, I can’t praise the organisation and the staff who makes it all possible.

My son has developed independent abilities in the form of transport use, cooking, fitness and self confidence since joining the independence project. Not only that but he also has a whale of a time and meets many new friends, that have made him a much more rounded person.

P.S. He also had a fantastic time in Spain recently.

My son has just returned from a week’s holiday in Spain with this project. Wow what a week they have had. They have had a blast. I cannot thank this project enough. The holidays they run are on the next level for these young people. It looked fabulous and has given them all brilliant fun memories with their friends which I am sure they will treasure. The staff work extremely hard to make this experience possible for them. I cannot recommend this club enough. The staff all deserve medals. 😁 Thank you.

Our Joe has just returned from 4 nights in Alicante with his friends supported by the Independence Project. We have known Andrew, Olivia, Emma and Sean for ages so knew the trip would be well organised, safe and fun. They didn’t disappoint. Joe had a fantastic time doing the things youngsters should be doing on holiday: eating, drinking, staying up late, trying new things and mucking about. We appreciate the time and effort that goes into these holidays and want you to know that it is a wonderful thing that you are doing.
Thank you to everyone involved.

Independence Project is N0T just another special needs day centre. My son Andrew has been attending Independence Project since the beginning and I'm always blown away by the care and the variety of experiences the brilliant team give these amazing young people. Andrew's gone to all the trips this year and has still got the trip to Butlins at Bognor in December to go on for 2024. The communication with the carers is second to none both at the base and when they're away. Nothing is too much trouble.

Andrew is so lucky to be going to Independence Project.

If you want your 19+ young person in the best safe hands and having fun then look no further and choose Independence Project.

A happy mum indeed - Heather Moore

My son has been attending the Monday evening nights out for a couple of years now and he absolutely loves it. The staff go above and beyond to help him cope as this is a huge thing for him, he now has a lovely group of friends and is able to have a social night out with them once a week accessing lots of mainstream activities with subtle support. He loves all the things he gets to do with them and looks forward to it each week. We have seen him come along so much the past couple of years and it’s all thanks to the fantastic staff!
