I visit JF for the first time today; recently relocated from London after 30 years (moved Aug 2020). This place is simply stunning!

It's my new favourite dog walk. Lots to do with young children who like to play and outdoors; great for dog walking. Plus for adults there is a good walk around the high boundary and upon the narrow lanes past Cat 'ith well pub worth visiting - incredible views - and looping back around Jowler and popping down past Jowler Mill (and Sofa Limited shop - what a joy!) makes for a great day away from the office/normal routines.

Beautiful little campsite! Picnic benches and drinking water is available down by the pitches as well as a lovely little adventure playground (though this is more for the older kids) across the stream. Lots of interesting footpaths to explore and a dipping pond on site.
Cell reception is patchy at best (which is great if you need to unplug for a while) be sure to bring a book 🙂
Clean and well maintained toilet and shower facilities are located next to the car park.
The only downside is the very long steep hill from the car park to the pitches, no vehicle access, so you’ll have to lug your gear down and up again. But it’s well worth it!

Lovely place to go for a walk. You can take your kids and dogs as well. There is few benches to sit down and have something to eat. If it's warm nice place for a picnic 🙂

A jewel in Calderdale's crown. Access to woods, fields and moorland walks as well as limited camping facilities. A wonderful place to immerse yourself in nature

Loved it woodlands starting to bud, lots of wildlife, and the river. Picnic tables and a kids play area everything made from woodland material. Brill

I visited here with my school and camped out.
Up in the woods the stream was running fast and we came upon a well like in the middle of the stream?
I was told it was to take the overflow of water underneath the waterfall so to ease the flow?
Great place to stay..

A lovely down to earth campsite free of cars (parking is available off the camp area) and caravans.

The site is well run, clean and quiet, although don't camp right next to the stream if you wake easily as you will hear the running water.

It's particularly pretty, placed at the bottom of a small valley with a forest across the stream.

Simple to access by public transport, regular buses from Sowerby Bridge drop you 15m walk from the site.

And we couldn't have asked for more friendly and helpful site manager - thanks Ted!
