I can't recommend Jo enough. We used to use catteries but my cat is very scared when there so we found Jo from Take the Lead to do home visits and was the best decision. Jo will play with him, brush, feed, water and do his litter. He isn't phased at all when we get home. Jo also sends photos every time she visits which is great. Jo has made going back to work so easy. I work part time so needed someone to take Paddy a walk for me in the day. I was so worried about leaving him with anyone because he is our baby! I knew when I spoke to Jo it wasn’t going to be a problem. Jo is warm, friendly and professional, Paddy loved her from the minute he met her, she has taken such good care of him for us. Paddy loves his walks with Jo and even though he is strong, Jo has managed to get him to walk nicely on the lead for her. Jo makes sure all Paddy’s needs are met and always leaves him settled with fresh water. Jo is trustworthy and reliable, you can tell she genuinely loves animals, with the added bonus that she is qualified in canine first aid. We are really happy with how quickly Paddy has settled into his new routine and all the lovely pictures and videos we get from Jo. We would definitely recommend her for the care of your furry friend!

Jo has helped us with our dog Ronnie since we first got him as a young pup. We knew we would need a hand in helping Ronnie getting used to being at home alone - Jo has been invaluable in checking on him, and playing with him on the comfort visits - he loves her which is evident by his greetings which speaks a thousand words! He now has no issues with being left alone in the house and waits for Jo! The service is brilliant, always accommodating and friendly to deal with. She has also supported us with Ronnie's training plan which is just amazing and so appreciated. Photos/videos are sent each visit which is great - and Jo is quite the photographer! 🙂

Our Springer spaniel loves going for his walks with Jo and he loves spending time playing with her in the garden. Jo has been extremley professional and reliable right from her first visit. We have recently taken on Joanne for companion visits for our 4 dogs. She is extremely friendly & reliable & the dogs have warmed to her virtually straight away. Joanne has been wonderful with me and Sadie (my puppy). I was very nervous about leaving her for so long whilst I was at work but Joanne went through everything and sent me photos and videos showing how happy my puppy is with her.
She met us before to make sure Sadie was happy with her, learned her commands and answered all my questions. We went through the paperwork and everything was made clear and straightforward. I trust her with my dog and in my house. She is always respectful and professional. Definitely recommend.

Joanne has genuine affection and respect for all animals, especially dogs, and it shows in the way they react fondly towards her. Over 30 years, she has had 2 wonderful dogs of her own from puppyhood into old age and they couldn’t have asked for better lives. I recently moved to the area and was worried about finding a new walker for Nell. I really didn’t need to be. Joanne has been an absolute godsend and Nell adores her! The photos and videos she sends every walk really brighten my work day. I couldn’t recommend Joanne and Take The Lead enough!
