Great school with excellent teachers and student community in exceptional historic (it is Shakespeare's school) and modern buildings.

This Grammar school in the heart of the town is an historical gem. Where William Shakespeare went to school. The original classroom that was used by the Bard has now for the first time been open to the public. A real treat in getting to see how the young Shakespeare's education formed his adult success. The school is still one of the top Grammar schools in the country. If you visit Stratford upon Avon..... This is a must see.

New attraction that is really working hard to establish themselves. They even have a fake schoolmaster to explain how the school works. The most charming detail was the lady's son, current student, a 16 yo boy, speaking about life in school.

I was facinated more by the building itself more than anything. That being said, it's a proper tour, which has a walking guide, an introduction video, a "true" Latin lesson similar to what Shakespeare would have been taught, as well as (much needed) champagne and biscuits.

Did the tour and really enjoyed it. I was really impressed by the depth of knowledge of the staff. One of them, Hugo, was a current student!
