After trying to learn the guitar on my own using videos and YouTube, I was on the verge of giving up again. I decided I was going to find someone to teach me thinking one last go , ℹ researched local music lessons trying a few before I found Kirklees guitar school moving to these and being taught by George was the best decision I’ve made in my musical adventure. I started with acoustic guitar/ electric guitar, I decided I wanted to play the Bass . I’m 64 years old and I’ve been practicing Guitar and now bass for one year with George at Kirklees guitar school, I've made fantastic progress, George is a very patient teacher, I highly recommend Kirklees guitar school for any age student. I have been having piano lessons with Lauren for a year now and I love it. Starting to learn a new skill as an adult can be quite daunting but she has encouraged and supported me brilliantly. She takes a genuine interest in me and which styles of music I prefer and always finds pieces I enjoy learning. She teaches new skills methodically and in a way that you can see and (hear!) the progress you have made. Plus everyone I have met at Kirklees Guitar School has been welcoming and friendly.

As a 67yr woman with no experience of playing an instrument and tone deaf and left handed I decided I would learn to play the Banjolele. My 72yr husband was having guitar lessons with James and suggested I have a chat with him.
As they say the rest is history. James is totally amazing. He has been so patient with me in teaching me to play. I am still a beginner but I am loving every minute of my musical foray. All I can say is if you are considering learning to play the Kirklees Guitar School is definitely for you. Friendly, professional and most importantly patient and fun.

My kids are being taught guitar at Kirklees Guitar School and they absolutely love it! They always look forward to going and all the staff are so patient and kind. The summer concert is great too and gives the kids such a boost in confidence. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the school 🌟

I took piano lessons as a child and always regretted packing it in. When I saw the school advertising, I decided to give it a go! Starting again in my fifties, I thought I would struggle but Lauren put me at ease right from the start and I absolutely loved it. She is extremely patient and calm and has a lovely manner with her students (who are of all ages and walks of life). Lauren tailors her tuition to the individual; so for me as an adult learning for fun, our sessions are relaxed, light-hearted and there is no pressure to take exams (but equally I could if I wanted to). She also takes time to understand what I like and help me find the right types of pieces to learn. I have been coming for a year now and can’t believe my progress - I enjoy my lesson every week.

Kirklees Guitar School is a welcoming, and fun place to learn. The staff are highly skilled musicians, having people skills placing you at ease. Exercises are designed to improve your play. The sessions are engaging and never boring. If you want to learn how to play a musical instrument then Kirklees Guitar School is the place for you.

I’m 62 and riddled with arthritis in my fingers. However, James and George have been helping me learn to play the guitar. Yes, it is a challenge for me. Their patience and understanding and tailoring my learning at my pace has helped massively. It would have been so easy to give up. However, I’m still there, developing and enjoying my journey. It’s also helping the mobility of my joints too 👍
