Our favourite little zoo in the Lakes! Have lovely it is, and how lovely the employees are. We felt very welcome. Being a lovely day in August, the zoo was fairly busy, yet we were not rushed at all. We managed to see most of the animals, and even enjoyed our lunch here too. Our 18 month old was really happy, walking around showing us all the animals! Absolutely magical. Hope to return again one day.

This is a wonderful little place, the young an passionate managers are a breath of fresh air and their clear love for the animals is heartwarming. They have not tried to cram as many exhibits as they can for the benefit of people but have put the animals first. The Collections Manager is knowledge and provides fascinating information about the creatures. Reasonably priced and fabulous attraction

Nice little zoo with a few different animals such as Arctic foxes. Expect to spend a couple of hours here. Decent price, approx £11 odd each. Has a small shop and cafe too. The tunnel through the snow leopard enclosure is a nice idea, just a shame you can barely see out of it, especially given that there was a snow leopard sat on top of it when we walked through! There's a small aquarium, insects, indoor animals, and outdoor enclosures. They're currently doing building work outside, so part of it is cordoned off, but doesn't block off any of the animals. The lemur walkthrough was closed when we visited. Plenty of interactive activities for children too.

Very impressed.
Staff were very passionate and helpful.
Absolutely LOVED the paintings done by the animals. And it all helped fund future expansions of the enclosures.
The food and drinks were very well priced as well.

Hidden gem of a zoo! What a lovely contrast to the bigger zoos in the UK, feels so homely and friendly compared to the others and, although not the biggest, it certainly packs a punch. A great array of lovely animals here and exhibited in a fair and easy to view way. We loved the monkeyed and it’s possible to get super close to them and see them up close. Would wholeheartedly recommend the great zoo for an afternoon out!

Wow. We had such a fun day out here, a real hidden gem. It was lovely and quiet and there was so much to look at. The staff were fantastic, so knowledgeable and friendly. I thought the ticket prices were very reasonable and the cafe food was tasty. I will be recommending to everyone I know.

Great place to spend a few hours for both adults and children.
Has a vast variety pack in to a small holding and all animals and bird life were in excellent condition meaning that they are cared for in a high standard.
I especially went for the snow leopard as i am a big cat fan.
There is a gift shop , a cafe and toilets on site and also the car park is a decent size and we had no problem parking.
The staff i dealt are hepful and pleasant and had no hesitation in their knowledge of the animal i asked about .

A really lovely wildlife place. I took my 2 girls over half term and it was a perfect size for them. We were able to see all the animals. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Even though there were exciting renovations happening, there were staff and volunteers everywhere working so hard to keep everything as good as it can be, well done all.
