Clean, pleasant nursery with friendly professional staff. My 22 month old son joined from another nursery 7 months ago and settled really quickly. He's happy from drop off to collection and the staff always let us know all the activities he's been up to and what he's eaten each day. Superb!

To All Mothers,

I am writing to share my deeply concerning experience with Ford Road Nursery & Pre-School, located in the Barking and Dagenham borough. As a mother, I believe it is crucial to inform others about our experiences in order to protect our children and support one another in our parenting journeys.

My sister, who has successfully raised two children aged 19 and 16 without any issues from social services, enrolled her youngest child, a 3-year and 8-month-old boy, in what she believed to be a reputable nursery. Unfortunately, her experience has been nothing short of alarming.

After just three weeks at Ford Road Nursery, my sister's son had a minor accident while at school. When my sister's partner picked him up, he was unaware of the situation. It wasn't until later that my sister noticed her son's head was swollen. She planned to address this at the nursery the following day. However, to her shock, the school had already contacted social services without any evidence or communication with us regarding the incident.

This situation escalated when the school allowed a negative report to tarnish my sister's record with social services, despite the fact that her partner was the one who dropped off their child and did not pick him up on that day. After conducting further research, it has become evident that there are troubling patterns of racism within this institution. My sister's partner is English, while my sister is of African descent, and it appears that their concerns were dismissed based on prejudiced assumptions.

As a result of this situation, the case has now been reported to the police, and we are pursuing legal action against the nursery. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for all parents to be aware of the potential risks involved when choosing a nursery for their children.

In light of our experience, I strongly advise other parents to reconsider using Ford Road Nursery & Pre-School. There are many other options available that prioritize the well-being and safety of our children without the fear of unjust accusations and discrimination.

Let’s support one another and ensure our children are in safe and nurturing environments.

Sincerely,
A Concerned Mother

Awful place only been for a couple of weeks and child got fever and sick as not dressed up warmly in garden. Then last week Friday was absolutely shocked to see my child with no coat on in the garden with a biting wind nearing 6pm,it is autumn!2 supervisors laughing and joking as if not an issue. He had his shirt hanging off him with only one button done up and guess what got home and was sick that night as ill again! Also twice had other clothes put on him when came to collect him.His jeans were coated in mud!His clothes peg was never shown until the 3rd or 4th visit. He has a bag with his own nappies and wipes and horrified to see another nappy on him when changed him at home that was the wrong size and too tight so got a nappy rash!Avoid and do not be fooled by the rating!

Response to your comment:
I strongly refute that my son had the appropriate clothing on in the garden and what about when he came home with the wrong nappy size on and indeed another nappy on for that matter when had own nappies in his bag? Conveniently for you I cannot show the evidence as it is illegal to film in a children's setting!

I dont know where to start from, my kids father took my son to this school on Thursday and Friday 2 weeks ago he picked him up on Thursday and he noticed that my son had different clothes on that did not  belong to him. My son is potty trained and he always has extra clothes, nappy and wipes in his bag, then Friday the father noticed there was a bruise on my son’s face, so he called and told me about it, while I was giving my son a bath I saw all the bruises on his legs. When I took my son to school last Tuesday gone I mentioned it to one of the teachers that my son has got a bruise on his face but later on when I picked him up, I was caught by surprise when they called the social services and the Police saying that I abused my son.My first child is in University and my second is the class captain at his school. My children are taken well care of so I’m not sure why the school is trying to get me in trouble for no reason. I thought that the police would try to investigate the school however I have seen that they are on the schools side. They have been stressing me and my family out over something we know nothing about, I do not understand how the nursery can be so mean and horrible. They did not even talk to me about it. They did not ask questions because if they ask me questions, I can tell them this happened on Friday when the father picked him up and noticed the bruise before I noticed, now they have pinned everything on me that I abuse my own child, it took me 10 years to have my son, and he almost even died at the hospital as was in intensive care for two weeks all I have ever done is to protect my son, but these people said I abused my toddler which never happened, even the social worker will not listen as they all work together and support each other. My son is never going to the  nursery again. There was even a time my son came home with a wrong nappy size that gave him a nappy rash. I thought they would understand that my son fell at school instead pinning the blame on me. They took us to the hospital and the woman said to the social worker to go outside and she saw my son jumping around very happy and she was whispering to me that nothing was wrong with him. My son had some body bruises on his leg from nursery and she marked everything and wrote it all down and told the social services that he is not being abused, but still the social worker will still not leave me alone. They wanted to take pictures of my son’s face where it was bruised, the social worker came to me and saw my son playing around right in front of his face. My son fell a few times and bumped his head, when we went to take pictures, the social worker should’ve told them not to take the one that happened right in front of his face. He was there when they took pictures of the new bruises that happened in front of him so that now they can attach them to me and make an allegation against me that I abuse my child, because the bruise that happened in front of him they shouldn’t have taken the picture of that because he was there when that happened, the other one that nobody knew what happened to is the picture they were supposed to take and attach to my profile now they’re attaching the new bruise that happened to my profile and I have been told my name will be on the system for seven years, even if they found me not guilty. I do not know what to do. These people are trying to frustrate me and my family. Honestly, I will not advise any parents to take their children or their child to the nursery and if you take your child to the nursery everyday make sure you check your child body from your child hair to toes and take pictures of everything just in case.

Brilliant nursery. This is the second nursery that our son attends, so we have a point of comparison. We had an okay experience in the first one, but we are over the moon with the care, love and support he receives from the baby room team at LEYF Ford Road Nursery. We are kept well informed of his day with lots of updates, and his teachers are very happy to have conversations about his interests and learning when we pick him up. The team is friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their job. There is a very strong sense of community. There's often fresh fruit and veg for parents to take home and additional support for family is available if needed.
Our son is having the best time. He is calm and happy when we pick him up, and we can see him developing well.
Best nursery in the area by far!

If I could give this place a minus rating I would! Even a one star is too much for this place!
Horrible experience whiles my child was attending this nursery. My child got discriminated by his skin colour.
The staff screamed at the children and not supervise them when they are in the garden. My child came home with full nappy and dirty clothes even though I left bag with clothes. I was so disappointed as this left my child with nappy rashes. They did not even touch the creams or nappies I’ve left them to use for my child! What a wreckless act!!!
There was a lack of communication!
They never gave me feedback about his day.
Would not recommend this nursery to any parent as they fail in the duty of care and would you be leaving your child there at a high risk.
Find another nursery! Who cares! Who are up to date with communicating on your child’s welfare!
