We visited the Life Science Centre in Newcastle as a family, including my 11-year-old son, 8-year-old nephew, and 4-year-old nephew—and we all absolutely loved it! The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. Both of the shows we saw were amazing—engaging, interactive, and educational, keeping all three kids (and the grown-ups!) thoroughly entertained.

What really stood out for us was how inclusive and welcoming the environment was. My son is autistic and can sometimes find places like this overwhelming, but he felt completely comfortable the entire time. In fact, he didn’t want to leave! We ended up spending six hours there, and he’s already asking when we can go back. We had such a brilliant day that we’ve decided to purchase a membership so we can return regularly.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and made the experience even more enjoyable. There’s so much to explore and do for all ages—it’s an absolute gem in Newcastle. Highly recommended for families looking for a fun, educational day out!

The Life Science Centre is an incredible place that blends education with fun, making it perfect for visitors of all ages. From fascinating hands-on exhibits to cutting-edge science demonstrations, there’s always something new and exciting to explore.

The Planetarium is a highlight, offering stunning visuals and engaging presentations about space. The interactive zones are fantastic for children and adults alike, encouraging curiosity and learning in a fun way. The live science shows are both educational and entertaining, with knowledgeable staff who make complex topics easy to understand.

The centre is well-organized, clean, and accessible, with friendly staff who are always happy to help. The cafƩ serves a good selection of food, and the gift shop has some great science-themed souvenirs.
You might need couple of days to tick all the boxes inside.
Overall, it’s a brilliant experience for families, school trips, or anyone with a passion for science. Highly recommended!

Today (Friday 3rd Jan 2025) I went to Centre for Life Science Museum. The purpose of my visit was to discuss the amazing accessibility features. I was shown the sensory bags and boxes and given a guided tour. The staff were fab, friendly, polite, professional and smiley. The centre was clean and so accessible for so many different disabilities. They are very open to feedback.

Welcoming staff, interactive games, fun games, research areas, planetarium talk, and more. All was in good shape and nothing broken or sad looking. Planets talk was entertaining. Helpful staff. Good cafe, decent prices. We stayed 3.5 hours. Recommend!

Great for the kids, very busy in the holidays. I’d recommend booking tickets and even then you have to queue to go in, but it’s very well organised and goes down within 15 mins.
Staff very friendly, helpful and approachable.
Lost a star as there’s not enough tables and chairs for everyone who wants to sit and eat especially between 12-1pm but other than that I’d recommend a visit.

Beautiful space with lots of fun critical thinking and science activities for kids and adult. They've got a nice space station and an experimenting section as well. Overall, a lovely place to visit with family and there's something for children of different ages. The show at their planetarium was heartwarming

Very interesting and stimulating. My 7 year old grandson loved all of it. You pay for 5 hours parking and we used every minute of it and still rushed some of the end sections

I love the ideas that the Life Science Centre represents.

The exhibits are mostly very entertaining and well put together.

We found the Centre quite difficult to navigate and wound up doing circles a few times. The restaurant was full closed on a Saturday which was a bit of a pain.
