A fantastic campus! The college leadership are doing brilliant work with the students and the teaching staff. I was delighted to be asked to support and deliver their latest teacher training inset day on working memory and cognitive science…

Dreadful experience last year with my son we are still picking up the pieces ! disorganised ,no staff,no apologies, the whole place is a shambles avoid at all costs unless you want your child to lose a year of education
Fortunately we have found fantastic further education elsewhere where my son is thriving now ,the reviews of this place speak for themselves it would get zero stars if it was an option ! AVOID

i’ve never been to a more dysfunctional disorganised place in my life. The tutors have no idea what planet they are on. they can’t even get a correct exam date out to the students. the place is ran like a high-school with tyrannical rules and conditions that they hold over your head every second you’re on campus. please don’t send your child here if you value their mental health and education. thanks.

Went there 10 years ago roughly to do art but teacher made fun of my work and some students were laughing at me or accusing me of stuff others made up so I left..left Macc in general actually! best decision of my life. Now a law student about to graduate this year and moving on to my masters..so the teacher can carry on being snooty while drawing stick men

Left one of my close friends in tears. There are some good things don’t get me wrong, the reception staff are lovely. The welfare team have been amazing with my friend. It’s just a couple of the teachers who don’t know how to manage people with additional needs and neurodevelopmental issues. The college need to think of an appropriate solution to prevent my friend from being brought to tears again.

I studied an art and design course here for 2 years, teachers were absolutely lovey but there wasn't enough of them, 3 teachers spread between 6 classes of 10-30 teenagers who are all doing different things. When i started we had 4 teachers but 1 left and the college never replaced him. In my 2nd year they introduced a lot of new rules which made the place feel more like a high school than a college, the worst was no headphones. As an art student my work was 99% independent which means with a 3 hour+ class i was sat in silence the whole time, i understand having that rule in a teaching environment but art students get handed a brief and do everything themselves with occasional teacher guidance. We also couldn't be in a classroom by ourselves which meant when i had big gaps of 1-3 hours in my timetable i couldn't do my work which was all digital on a computer. I applied for university this year and i was denied based on my portfolio not being good enough, i asked my teachers several times to look over my portfolio and not a single one did, so the deadline came and i sent it off and was denied on it. I had the opportunity to continue here and do a foundation diploma before i try university again next year but i have chosen to attend a different college as choosing to go here was the worst mistake of my life and i encourage other people to look at other colleges before choosing Macclesfield as there are much better places out there.

So far we've been impressed, especially compared to All Hallows. Friendly, helpful, efficient. Haven't had to chase the SEND dept for anything either.

Would never recommend anyone to go here, did Level 3 IT here for a year and it was the worse experience of my life, was told we would learn stuff that we never did, had a teacher who didn't mark the work until the last day of the year. Throughout the second year we had a teacher who on their first day tried fighting a student. Got a massive donation for no reason since all the tech they bought you don't actually use. There is no way they call themselves the best college in cheshire.
