I did the 16 hour Outdoor First Aid course at Dartmoor Activity Centre. I wasn't much looking forward to this as I was expecting to be bored to death for two days but I couldn't have been more wrong and I wasn't bored for a moment. The mix of classroom learning, demonstrations and practical work held my attention and got the message across very effectively. I feel a lot better equipped to deal with an emergency situation. When renewal time comes round in three years I won't bother looking around, I'll go straight back to Optimal First Aid. Thank you

I really enjoyed Outdoor First Aid course, very practical and hands on. Everything was explained clearly and with no PowerPoint meant that things were so much easier to understand because they were broken down and explained thoroughly. My favourite part was the scenarios. The course was really interesting, best first aid course I’ve done.

Toby was extremely experienced and knowledgeable. I've always found it hard to take on and retain knowledge around First Aid but found the way that Toby delivered it easy to understand and remember. I found the practical scenarios really useful as well as the reviews of each scenario that followed. I felt that my questions were answered really well which helped my understanding. I would definitely recommend!!!

I did the 2 Day Outdoor First Aid with optimal. The focus on practical delivery whilst also having classroom and discussion based learning is a great way to deliver the course and gives confidence to learners, no matter previous experience. I had a great couple of days and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of doing a first aid course through them.

This must be the 3rd or 4th outdoor first aid course that I have done. The 1st with Optimal First Aid. Will not be using another provider form now on. Great course. Toby was great, professional, delivered well, had the experience to back up his teachings and really focused on the things that would really help when dealing with a real life situation. The props and hands on assessments really helped in terms of it being a real situation that you had to deal with. Would recommend to anyone.

Looking for an outdoor first aid trainer? Stop looking. Hire Toby. It will be the best thing you ever do.

Spent two days with Toby on an Outdoor First Aid course on Dartmoor. It was absolutely fantastic from start to finish and I've come away feeling as though, for the first time in my life, I might actually be useful in an emergency.

Toby's advice, knowledge and ability to remain calm as I repeatedly asked stupid questions were all first class. Great course, great bloke, invaluable training.

As for the first aid kit you need to buy after the course: ask Toby whether you should buy it from Amazon!

A great 2 day course from Toby and his team. The use of actors and simulations, for first aid scenarios to deal with as a first responder really do help, as you are learning practical skills and practicing them until you feel comfortable you could carry them out in the outdoor environment. Very knowledgeable and experienced. Would recommend.

Toby puts emphasis in making sure you understand why certain things may be happening in first aid situations, rather than teaching you a text book. The result is a more comprehensive and practical education that feels more applicable to real world situations than any other course I've done. Acting out scenarios forms a large part of the course to solidify your theoretical learning. I really enjoyed these as both Toby and Pete are a: stella actors, and b: constructive teachers, so you're not worried about "getting it wrong". Would definitely recommend.
