I completed my 2 year joinery apprenticeship here with Rikki. He was really supportive and helped me complete my coursework and made sure I covered every aspect of my course on site by doing routine visits and letting my boss know the different aspects of joinery I needed to complete to get my qualification. As of the help from optimum skills I passed my level 2 onsite carpentry with a distinction. This college is great because it boosted my confidence and found me a company to service my apprenticeship with.
Now I have a trade for life.

My time at optimum skills was outstanding they was very professional and they really did everything they could for me to be able to pass through my joinery course, but most thanks must go to Rikki tait as he really did help me and taught me in many ways, and I couldn’t be more appreciative as because of him I have been able to complete high end joinery on a big stage. Couldn’t recommend optimum skills enough!

I did the joinery course through here and my tutor (Rikki Tait) was more than you could’ve ever asked for. Always went out of his way to make sure every student completely knew what they were doing with everything and would always go out of his way to help them if they weren’t. he would always make me feel like i wanted to come in and get involved.

so far optimum skills have been great for helping me train up to become a fully qualified joiner, each week you learn something new and can get plenty of support if you are struggling with something from your teacher, which in my case is rikki who has been a massive help towards me progressing in my apprenticeship.

My time at optimum skills college couldn’t of went smoother , I came over from Ireland and didn’t know anyone in the college but upon my first day it couldn’t of been made easier for me all the staff and students making me feel welcome I feel like I fit right in . On the Education side of things it in my opinion was excellent as I’ve now got myself a job as a fully qualified joiner I don’t think I could of done without the help of Rikki and optimum skills college.

I was doing a joinery apprenticeship with rikki as my tutor, couldnt fault him at all, helped me with every aspect of the course, going out of his way to help in areas where i needed more help. I would highly recommend optimum for anyone looking to start an apprenticeship in the trades!
