My daughter wanted to start kickboxing for health and self defence, but she has got so much more out of attending. Her confidence has grown, at first she would not stay alone and I stayed with her. Seeing this I was very impressed by the techniques used and the consideration given to all pupils. She now goes in alone and speaks to others in the class. She looks forward to grading and getting the chance of a new belt.
Overall a brilliant community and it's more than physical health that she has achieved 👏

I've been attending the adult karate classes for about 3 months and it's always so much fun! Everyone is friendly and have been so welcoming. Mr and Mrs Stead are fantastic instructors. I did not expect to make as much progress as I have in these last 3 months and I could not imagine training anywhere else.

I have been attending kickboxing classes for almost a year and only have good things to say. Everyone there is friendly and supportive, instructors are very approachable and able to help you at whatever level you are at, lessons are always engaging and everything is geared to helping you improve. Overall a very positive and fun environment.

Castleford Kickboxing - Such an amazing team , they are brilliant with the kids and have been wonderful with my 6 year old daughter, she has gained so much confidence, she loves going to the classes.
I like the fact they don't just give out belts, you have to earn them. Keep up the brilliant work 10/10 and a massive thank you .

We have been with you less than a year but we have enjoyed coming and seeing a change in our son through martial arts. Its clear to us already the hard work and determination this club has. It felt very overwhelming for us a few months in as he wouldnt go on the mat and we nearly quit (no fault of the club) but we stuck with it and now at the age of 4 my son has taken part in his first tournament and ready for his grading. You guys are very approachable and on hand to help with anything and we love being part of the phoenix family. I cant wait to see the how far he goes. His confidence is already so much better 🥰 thank you Mr and Mrs Stead!

We recently left Phoenix. I can’t fault the actual classes. My daughter somewhat enjoyed them. However I feel in comparison to other martial arts and defence classes the price/cost of membership is high considering classes for my child were just 30 mins.
I did feel there was a big lack of personal touch with the children & it was all very money focused.
We left due to cost etc & no one even bothered to ask why. No check in to see why we didn’t go back. But carried on trying to take the money. Which confirmed to me that my daughter was just a number there was no genuine interest in her journey. We were very much rushed into signing up & paying the hefty fees for “license & uniform” but once paid, nothing much in return. Just a quick 30 mins a week mostly exercise, for £39 a month. In this current financial climate we just couldn’t justify it.
Since shopping around and researching other clubs for boxing & self defence I have found much cheaper places with equally if not better reviews that do not focus on money.

My girls have both been coming to this academy for a while now. I cannot praise Mr and Mrs stead enough for their hardwork and dedication not just to the students but to the academy. It's not just some where for the kids to train, it's like extended family and friend. My eldest daughter is on the leadership programme and she's gone from a shy wallflower to a very confident young lady. The comments that have been posed about just here to take your money and dont care about students this is NOT true at all mr and mrs stead are here to help ans support students not only in training but in personal development. KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK FOR YOUR STUDENTS!! PHONIX CASTLEFORD IS AMAZING.

My two children have been attending Phoenix Martial Arts for 3 years now. They both love their classes, it's really improved their selfconfidence and fitness and they have so much fun there. Both Mrs & Mr Stead are so friendly, supportive and caring to all the children and parents and genuinely seem to care about the happiness and success of every single student. I highly recommend Phoenix, they're amazing. Thank you Mr & Mrs Stead 😃
