I would like to take an opportunity and say about the course I was a part (Access Computer IT).

I found this course amazingly helpful for those who want to do something in Information Technology. The course is very informative and it keeps you very enthusiastic while you are studying.

When I was in course I can say proudly, I did enjoy every module and every day to day conversations about IT World.

This course made me interested in IT because the course has so much details and knowledgeable things for beginners to know what is access in IT. And teachers were very cooperative.

I would like to describe more but I would let people to get in course and see what an amazing course is it.

I’m a new student here but what I’ve observed is that the college is very clean and aesthetically pleasing, the colour coded lanyards representing different subjects is smart, students are well behaved outside of college near bus stops 🙂 unlike at my previous college. Lovely college overall but organisational skills seem to be quite poor and need to be improved, too many tech issues too. Ultimately I’m happy that Richmond college is welcoming me with open arms

AVOID THIS COLLEGE AT ALL COSTS. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. This college is a mess. The head of Access to HE displayed significant favouritism in grading, which appeared to be based more on personal preference than academic merit. Her consistent delays in assigning work and misguided advice heavily affected my academic performance. She was no help when contacted after receiving my grades and responded very rudely.

My other teacher failed to fulfil his responsibilities as an instructor, frequently missing classes and relying on YouTube tutorials rather than proper instruction. His lack of support for struggling students was evident, contributing to an overall poor learning environment.

Another unit lecturer's teaching approach was equally disappointing. He offered minimal guidance, often delayed assignments, and was disorganised in his instruction. Even his own colleagues were fed up with him. He was given one unit to teach in the entire year and he struggled to do that.

Additionally, I encountered serious issues with security, including being locked inside the building with other students due to their negligence. The security staff were rude and dismissive, refusing to take responsibility for their mistake. Furthermore, my request to appeal my grades has gone unanswered for over a week, proving a lack of responsiveness from the administration.

In summary, if you are considering doing an Access to HE course, do not do it at this institution. It is a complete waste of time and money.

As a former student who studied Digital Technologies & Computer Science here, I am ashamed.

The management in the college is terrible. Expect to get results weeks after as the lack of communication from the college is appalling. I still have not received a hard copy of my results and contacted the department to tell me they have sent them off weeks ago. This speaks volume alone.

The security think they are above the law with locking students inside the college and taking no accountability for their negligence. Dealt with a rude security lady who blames students for being stuck in the college yet did not follow her duty checking all floors.

One teacher in particular offered preferential treatment toward certain students leaving others lacking behind. This hindered our academic performance overall creating stress and panic amongst students.

The teachers are not helpful all the time with a lack of support leaving students to struggle. Sometimes the teachers wouldn't even show up leaving us in the dark with no explanation of their whereabouts. With one teacher being assigned to teach one unit for the year and failed to do so. He seems unbothered to teach so probably should retire. What a joke.

Another teacher represents disinterest in teaching with the lack of teaching to begin with resulting in passes amongst students. Nothing learnt from this teacher as he just puts on pre-recorded videos and calls that a lesson.

Don’t waste your time and money.

I had the misfortune of attending Richmond Upon Thames College, and I can confidently say it was the worst educational experience of my life. From the teachers to the facilities, everything about this college is subpar. Here’s why I strongly advise against choosing this institution, especially if you are considering studying engineering.

Incompetent and Unmotivated Teachers
The quality of teaching at Richmond Upon Thames College is appalling. Most of the teachers seem completely disinterested in their subjects and lack the necessary knowledge and passion to inspire students. The head teacher is equally disappointing, showing little to no leadership or support for students. It's clear that the staff here are just going through the motions, which is incredibly demotivating for students who are genuinely trying to learn and succeed.

Year-Long Internet Outage
A functioning internet connection is a basic requirement for any educational institution in this digital age. Shockingly, Richmond Upon Thames College failed to provide internet access for an entire year. This massive oversight severely hindered our ability to conduct research, complete assignments, and access essential online resources. It was a major setback that left many students struggling to keep up with their coursework.

Abysmal Facilities
The college facilities are in a state of disrepair and neglect. Classrooms are outdated, equipment is often broken or missing, and the general environment is far from conducive to learning. The engineering department, in particular, suffers from a lack of proper tools and machinery, making it nearly impossible to gain any practical experience. This is a significant disadvantage for engineering students who need hands-on training.

Final Verdict: Look Elsewhere for Engineering
If you are considering studying engineering, do yourself a favor and pick another college. Richmond Upon Thames College does not provide the quality education or resources necessary to succeed in this field. Save yourself the frustration and choose an institution that values its students and is committed to providing a high standard of education.

In conclusion, Richmond Upon Thames College has been a complete disaster. The unmotivated teachers, lack of internet access, and poor facilities make it an unacceptable choice for anyone serious about their education. Don’t make the same mistake I did – avoid this college at all costs.

Worst 2 years of my life. The online systems are poorly organised. It is almost impossible to find solutions to your problems without a staff directory. It is hard to contact or find out any information about anything. Attendance never records absences accurately. General consensus is most of the teachers are either incompetent or blatantly unbothered (with a couple of hidden gems). They do random spot searches and the police are in what seems like at least once a fortnight due to criminal issues. Boys harass the girls. You learn in classes where 90% of the other students are equally unbothered. I give their A Level department 5 years before it crashes to the floor. Completely non-fit for purpose. Go to Esher, Godalming, Strodes, Woking, Reigate, Kingston or literally anywhere else. Bunch of better colleges out there. I was an A Level student from 2022 - 2024 and honestly, I’ll be surprised if I can even get my exam results on the 15th of August due to horrendous organisation.

Richmond college is a great place to study.The college is very welcoming and it surrounding is an aesthetic pleasure.Most of the staff are friendly, helpful ,passionate and industrious but not all of them as a few can’t be asked.In my experience having done an access to HE in computer science last year .I think it could improve more on it communication and planning and the security staff could be a little more polite ,we know is a tough job .Thanks to the hardworking and caring staffs and a special shout out to Mrs Mradula Saxena.

spent two years going to this college it was a very amazing experience but the person that was hiring these teachers for sure did not have any qualifications as teachers would make our assignments 6 months later to the due date but then expect you to have everything ready for btec also they had teachers that didn't show up to lessons wasting our time etc but overall experience in a non educational way was very good

another thing is there are some very rude teachers that expect for students to not have a voice in what's going on for example i handed in my assignment in November but i am in may and it has been marked so we decide to confront the teacher and tell them what's going on and he tells me to stop speaking as i am speaking nonsense i seriously dont understand how this college is hiring this useless teachers this same person went from head of a department to a normal teacher does that not say anything.
