I have just completed the Level 3 Textiles course through the School of Stitched Textiles. I was looking for a course that would help me find my creative side again following several years of working in finance. This course was excellent, has taught me so many new skills and pushed me way out of my comfort zone. I now have confidence in my abilities and enough self belief that I feel capable of going on to sell my creations. My tutor was so supportive and I can't thank her enough for her constructive feedback and encouragement.

About a year ago, I enrolled with the School of Stitched Textiles to study City & Guilds Textiles, Skill Stage 2, and now that I have completed the course, I am so glad I did.
My knowledge, skills, and confidence have grown enormously. Through studying about artists, aspects of design and designing, patchwork and quilting techniques, and machine embroidery I am now able to design and produce my own work. I feel very proud of this achievement!
The school offers regular Zoom sessions and excellent tutor and administrative support, all of which I would highly recommend taking advantage of. It's so important to be connected with a group of people who share your passion about your chosen subject. If you are seriously considering doing a course with the School of Stitched Textiles, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Have just completed SS3 Textiles and have throughly enjoyed the whole journey. I have learnt so much along the way, including things I never would have considered trying had they not been part of the course. It is a lot of hard work, but each module is broken down into digestible blocks. Your tutor is there along the way to help with any problems and there is a fabulous Facebook group where other students are more than happy to help with any questions you may have.

Really enjoyed the SS3 Textiles course, which was a mixture of Machine Embroidery and Patchwork and Quilting. Tutors and staff always ready to help, supportive group of students on FB too. Lots of work, but you really can see how far you have progressed when you look back to early modules. Modular nature of course was a good motivation to finish a piece of work and send it in. You then draw on these skills later in the course when working on final pieces for assessment.

Well structured with plenty of friendly support available.
I had been dabbling with hand embroidery for many years, but I was amazed how much I learned as I progressed through the carefully focused modules. Study involved not just embroidering and stitching, but research, design and drawing inspiration from art, artists and environment.
This is an online course that works very well. Work is submitted as a PowerPoint presentation which I had never used before, but turned out to be a fantastic design tool and lot easier to use than I expected.
In brief, I would highly recommend this course to anyone of any age who loves creating things with stitch. It is hard work, but only in the most wonderfully enjoyable way.

I am thrilled to have completed SST's Patchwork and Quilting skill stage 4 course. I am planning to retire from my full time job in less than 5 years. I wanted to complete the course so I could continue to design and make textile art with the added confidence that I have achieved a recognised qualification. I intend to compliment my retirement income by designing patterns and teaching workshops both locally and nationwide in New Zealand.

School of Stitched Textiles course has stretched me, sometimes in ways I didn't think I wanted to go, but always with great results and new learning. They have prepared me for the riggers of finishing my work for sale, cataloging, presenting, marketing and tracking sales against a budget.

The communication with staff and my tutors has been amazing. Replies to questions have usually been within 24 hours, which is great considering how far from UK I am.

I have enjoyed my course immensely and can recommend it to others.

I have really enjoyed my SS3 Machine Embroidery course. I found the structure of the modules really motivating and have developed my skills a long way from Module 1 to 12. The tutor feedback is really supportive and helpful. I would highly recommend! .

I have just completed the Level 3 Hand Embroidery course. I started the course with limited stitching experience and was a little concerned I may find myself out of my depth but I wanted to push myself. I've loved it! I've tried lots of new techniques I never would have tried left to my own devices.

Part of the reason for choosing this course (rather than learning stitching from you tube etc) was the design development elements. I now have a much better process for taking initial ideas and developing them into designs. I also found the business planning and marketing modules particularly useful, and I'm sure I will draw on these in the future.

At times it can be difficult to feel motivated (this is where the difference to studying in person is most apparent), but the tutors are there to encourage you and there is a lovely supportive community of other students online which really helps.

I would definitely recommend these courses.
