Little gem! This secondhand bookstore has 5 levels with books. It's amazing! You can find new and old books as well as vinyls and CDs with music.
We went on bank holiday morning and it was quite, not many people.
I really recommend to see this place!

Took my teenage daughter to have a look around as she is a serious bookworm.
So many books for her to look around, the store is well signed to show what books are located where.
It's a little cramped inside but I feel that's part of its character and charm.
Plenty to choose from and she managed to find a couple of books which were reasonably priced.
We were made to feel welcome by a lady behind the counter as well entered which is always a good start.

Amazing place, the reviews don't do it justice. There really are books everywhere, about everything on 5 floors. There are comfortable seats scattered about so you can relax and read, and no pressure to buy or move on. The books are very reasonably priced also. Can't wait to spend more time there.

This is one of the most beautiful bookshops in Cheshire. The bookshop features thousands of invaluable and vintage collections across diverse subjects. They are elegantly distributed across its cellar, three floors and an attic. The staff is so kind that she led me to the relevant bookshelves after inquiry of an author. This is undoubtedly one of pilgrimage sites for book lovers.

Visited this bookshop for the first time after driving past it for years and I can say that it was definitely worth the wait. This shop is packed floor to ceiling over 5 floors. With hidden gems around every corner.

There are plenty of seats to perch on while having a quick browse of anything you are looking to buy.

The staff were friendly from the moment that you opened the door. Id highly recommend visiting for anyone passing through the area or making it the sole purpose of your trip to Buxton and the Peak District

Very old worldy 5 floors filled with old/vintage/antique books/magazines/posters/CDs/cards. The book store is under new management a month ago: a very friendly lady who has been working there for a long time! The store is filled to the brim of all book categories! The new owner is also starting a coffee and tea refreshments. There are some seats on the second floor. The store has some lovely framed paintings and photos. The only negative feature is because it is such an old building, there isn't enough space available for making a stairlift, therefore it is not at the moment, wheelchair or mobility friendly. I would still highly recommend a visit to 'Scrivener's Book and Bookbinding', if you are a book lover!

Wonderful bookshop - "just like they used to be." We always visit on our, admittedly infrequent, trips to Buxton. I can honestly say I've never left empty-handed. Support this bookshop - such treasures are definitely a "use it or lose it" resouce.

Tremendous book shop! Spread over five floors, full of used books in great condition, with many corners to hide with a cup of tea (which you make yourself!) and read in an armchair. Artisan book restorers work in store, there's a lovely little museum in the cellar, there's a harmonium you can play in the music department, kid-size chairs and soft toys in the children's department and friendly, kind staff. Absolutely nothing to fault, well worth your time.
