Shires were amazing from start to finish!

Recommend to me by a friend who used them 8 years ago and still raved about them, I called up and was put at ease straight away with their taking care of all of the bookings for training and tests in one simple bundle.

The CBT training was brilliant, put at ease and given the building blocks as foundations for the rest of the training.

Throughout Theory Test, Mod1 and Mod2 the people at Shires were fantastic. Ash, Leo, Colin, Paul and the others I've interacted with are all passionate, knowledgeable and great at communicating; I really couldn't have hoped for more.

Words can't describe how amazing the shires team are! Before training with shires I had moped experience from my younger days so riding was all new to me. Me being a very nervous person it helped that the staff were so supportive, comforting and understanding, it made learning to ride a breeze. I can't thank them all enough for training me to be a cool rider 😎 it was a pleasure. Also want to thank ash for cheering me up after failing my mod 1 first time round, your all wonderful, I'll be up soon with a little something to say thank you 😊 🙏

I would highly recommend the guys at Shires they are patient and professional.
I really enjoyed my time with them they go above and beyond to get you through your test. Ashley has been amazing with me helping me to feel more confident on the bike he has the patience of a saint 😊 Anyone wanting to learn to ride a motorcycle you will not go wrong with these guys

Shires are that amazing I travelled for every training session and test from my home in Perton, Wolverhampton to Nottingham/Derby for almost 3 months!! They are the ONLY motorcycle training school I trust!

I came back almost 9 years later and did it. I obtained my full motorcycle category A licence today thanks to the team at Shires.

Starting the journey on 17th October 2024 with Shaun & Carl for the CBT. This was the first time I had ridden a geared bike since 2016. I was wobbly, the day was spent on the training site in Derby on a Kawasaki 125, with the afternoon out on the road. A massive thanks to both Shaun and Carl for their patience, banter and professionalism. You chaps really know your stuff. Thanks lads!! 🤘

Progressing on to the MOD 1 training!This was an eye opener for me never mind Ash & Leo, who both have the patience of saints. I really struggled with everything to do with the controls of a motorcycle. Progressing from a 125 to the Kawasaki Z650 was nerve wracking!! Oh my, I had so much fun, again on the training ground for MOD 1 and out on the road Ash & Leo were outstanding. Your observant eyes, focusing on safety and individual competence is nothing short of incredible. You had eyes on every manoeuvre the trainees were making on each and every training session. Ash & Leo are the PT’s of motorcycle training!

Massive shout out to Colin for your time with me on the test pad at Colwick. A man of many talents and with decades of riding experience, also a braille expert (ask him to explain) 🤣. I only had that one day with Colin, due to two possibilities, he had enough of me or because he rudely retired!!

Let’s not forget Holly & Jo, re-booking & moving tests to accommodate my progression and the terrible weather!

I did the DAS course, and had approximately 5 full days of extra tuition over the near 3 months I was training with Shires.

Overall 6 tests booked two cancellations, two fails and three passes (including CBT). Amazing experience and now the learning begins for me. I have a beauty of a new(ish) bike. A 2022 Triumph Trident 660, cant wait for the weather to improve, in the mean time just short journeys to build my skills and the longer days out will come in the spring & summer.

Thanks again team Shires - Ash, Carl, Holly, Jo, Leo & Shaun an amazing team of professionals who I am now proud to be part of the Shires family!! I will be back on the new bike and with cake!!

Oh almost forgot the jinx Paul - the gaffer!! Managed to get a half day MOD1 training with Paul too. Very calming and encouraging demeanour. I kind of expected the gaffer to bollock me for messing up, but how wrong I was. Thanks for that morning Paul!! Oh and don’t let him wish you luck on tests, every time he wished me luck I failed, yet on the days I passed he didn’t, go figure!!

The instructors are all bikers themselves so there very understanding. There all really funny and down to earth and all very fixated on making sure you pass. There advice and way of teaching is spot on I did my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 with them and will defo be going back for my A license

I passed with Shires in August 2023, both tests passed first time, they arranged everything including, arranging my theory test and both my module one and two tests. They are great from the admin team to the instructors, I didn’t want to go anywhere else and I’m glad I didn’t, first time pass on both modules and I’m now riding a vintage BMW R100, a once very practical bike but now it’s a bobber with no mudguards I love it.
I’ve not been back to see them yet but I will pop in for a brew, but I will very soon thanks everyone at shires.

Had a great day being taught by Shaun.. an easy going lovely chap who took all the pressure and stress away.. definitely recommend anyone to use these guy's.. had me thinking I may do my mods through these guys..

Just obtained my full licence with Shires, based at West Bridgford. The trainers Leo, Ash and Colin were fantastic, not forgetting Shaun who I completed my CBT with last year! All are very knowledgeable, patient and gave me the confidence I needed to achieve my licence. Thanks guys 😊
