I studied AAT here part time as an apprentice. I failed a few exams but resat them and passed them in time to start the next level apprenticeship. I worked hard to pass my exams just for a lady who wasn’t even my teacher to tell myself and my workplace that I am not ready to progress, and to wait a year to begin the next level. I didn’t listen, I left this college. I moved to SCCB which is 30 mins away from me to continue my studies and I am doing just fine. Go to SCCB if you’re looking to study AAT because the lecturers + apprenticeship coaches are odd at Solihull college. No idea how their business/accounting department makes decisions, and why they feel so entitled to choose someone’s academic pathway.

This is one of the worst colleges for students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN). Despite their reputation for success amongst their students, they unfortunately lack the communication and support for students with learning difficulties who depend on it.

When I initially enrolled for Cisco IT Essentials, I was told to come in on a certain day. So that I could get started. However, there was no communication between me and my tutor. I left work to go to this college and then I ended up wasting my afternoon by being told that it’s starting on a different day. Then I got the blame for not knowing in the first place, which wasn’t even my fault!

Throughout my Cisco IT Essentials and Networking Essentials courses, I’ve had no support at all. But thankfully, I have passed them and gained my certificates. Then I moved onto potentially doing Maths GCSE.

Before I enrolled onto any courses, I spent two months at this college practicing Maths during my one-to-one sessions. After all of this time, I was told in the end that I won’t be receiving any support during my time with the Maths GCSE, despite them being aware of my difficulties with this subject. I felt angry and let down by this news. So, I decided to leave!

Unorganised, understaffed and chav central

Aswell as the the most childish lessons possible, had to change subject from level 2 art bc it was finger painting leafs..

And not to mention how they lost private medical records and then sent them to the wrong place,
Just such a mess in every way

The enrolment process was shambolic, poor communication and slow. Since starting the college the poor communication still persists. The teachers will be absent from class without informing the students, work not set from the teacher when absent. Teachers wont respond back to student emailing them with assignment queries. Parents evening dates set but no teacher is aware nor knows how an appointment can be booked. The phone line to speak to a member of staff is never answered and the mailbox is always full. The security guard watches older students at the school smoke weed directly outside the front doors without doing his job and pulling them up about it. There is a distinct lack of professionalism and care at this college.

I sent my daughters with learning disabilities to this college yet they decide what education your child gets and the student my daughters are doing infant work at this college so I would not recommend anyone with special needs attending at college.

I am making complaints about this children with special needs has rights to education. And all this College is teaching my daughters they are almost 17 yet they are learning about the weather counting money learning the days of the calendar learning the days of the week. What college is this? My daughters already know this and I may as well send my daughters back to primary. Do not send children with special needs to this college. As they will not get the education they deserve

I am very disappointed and upset with this rubbish Campus I've started a course in September called functional skills maths but unfortunately they never gave me one to one support due my special needs I have learning difficulties I have Autism and mental as well but what I don't understand why are they promoting fake news on social media like for example we give extra one to one support to those who people who have learning difficulties but I left the course because didn't fit in!

Yet again students from that college intimidating and running rough shot over bus drivers and intimidating fellow passengers. This college has the scum of the earth going to it.
Seen old people and mom's with prams pushed out the way by these so called students, they don't want to learn just mess around with their mates.
Speak to the college about them and they don't want to know !
More police down the town centre than ever because of their behaviour
