We had the pleasure of engaging with the I CAN team and the degree of support they provided was outstanding (even before we decided to get the kids formally assessed at the Bill Harrison Suite). They went above and beyond to ensure that my boys were properly assessed and all recommendations tailored to each child. They empowered us with all the relevant information needed to get my boys appropriate educational placement.

This service and team is a hidden gem. I found them through another parent recommendation and I’m so glad I did. The service was excellent and the professional have such expertise. The team communicated well from the start, making myself and my daughter feel really listened to and understood. The team were responsive to our needs and the written reports were very detailed and professional and have been used within the LA EHCP as evidence and as goals for my daughter. I can not thank the team enough for their support and would highly recommend to others.

Great school with brilliant staff helping SEN kids to achieve full potential. Facilities are above anything I was expecting and include a gym with versatile OT equipment, specialised sensory rooms, massive plot of land and their own forest (!) which is also very well-equipped for fun PE plays.

The communication with the ICAN team was brilliant, everybody really cared about us. Big praises to Kayleigh who guided us through the process and also did a tour of the school. She is very experienced, professional and approachable. Once she got hold of our application the rest was a breeze, she really cared about us and did everything to help address our concerns. Even though at the end we were recommended to look at alternative schools with smaller size classes this was exactly the feedback we needed. We are now more aware of what type of school would fit better and are trying to secure a placement.

Outstanding support from the team, both for a virtual initial assessment due to COVID, and then the full in person assessment at the centre. All of the staff made my daughter immediately feel at ease, and she enjoyed her 2 days. The feedback in the afternoon not only absolutely summed her up so that I knew they had gotten a full and accurate picture of her, but they also picked out things that her speech therapists didn’t see. The team at the Bill Harrison centre have been amazing... in advance if us even booking an assessment they took time to talk to us and offer what ever advise they could. The 2 day assessment was calm and comprehensive. They have provided us as parents with much needed and wanted certainty about a direction for our little boy and also helped us input directly into his EHCP. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

My son was identified as having speech problems at two and a half and yet didn't get any speech therapy assessment until he evntually got to see a multidiscaplinary team at the age 4, and it's been down hill ever since.

There was a glimer of hope and respite for a while after more fighting from us as parents to get an EHCP and then for it to include speech therapy ( in theory) how ever into yr two at school and he was constantly distressed he started lashing out and hitting his 1:1. I asked for a reassessment of his needs but it fell on deaf ears.

I've discovered that although there are alot of very good poeple with in the NHS they are seldom the ones in a postiton to help, the only time I'm listend to and my son is helped is when I seek out independent services.

I only wish I had come to the Bill Harrison assessment centre sooner, I can't speak highly enough about the team who saw my son, I was reasured by a member of the team that ' I was in safe hands' and I really was, they are honest and kind and supportive, for the first time in years I felt like my opinions and veiws counted, I wasn't humoured or patronised I was helped but most of all so was my son.

The team worked with my son for 2 days and they unlocked every little detail of his needs and becuase of that they were able to write an amazing, tight, accurate, detailed report about him, which I am now using to get our LA SEND team and the school to sit up and listen, the GP is making referrals that he would never have done before and I'm on the first stages of getting my son into the right school for his needs and it's all because of the great work carried out by the team at the I CAN assessment centre.

To any parent feeling worn out and frustrated on the brink of madness I would say STOP IT'S NOT YOU!!! trust your gut don't second guess yourself, contact the team, they will listen and help, take your child to the BILL HARRISON ASSESSMENT CENTRE.

We did a 300 mile round trip and it was worth evey mile and if I had to do it every week for the next 10 years I would, to take my child to the team.
