Never been in the Church but we have enjoyed a picnic in the Churchyard on several occasions whilst out walking.
Atmospheric , well maintained & with some nicely positioned benches.
The Church is in the old part of Bovingdon.

A wonderful location and beautiful church in the countryside. Full of history, and the churchyard is expansive. There is ongoing restoration of both the church and the churchyard.

It is thought that a church or chapel has stood on this site since at least 1200 when Bovingdon was part of the parish of Hemel Hempstead. The former church was pulled down in 1844 and a new one built in 1846. The lower half of the tower is the only part remaining of the older church.

The churchyard covers 4.5 acres and is the largest open churchyard in Hertfordshire. There are over 1700 (known) graves here. More than 200 trees, in the grounds of the churchyard, add to the restfulness of the site.

A Christmas tree with a purpose is outside the church, people can write messages for either their beloved departed or those who couldn't be with them during the festive season due to lockdown, so many touching messages on this tree.
