A really beautiful church still open for private worship. All seating properly socially distanced. Whilst I was there a visitor came in to light a candle, another to sit quietly with a takeaway coffee and others sheltering from the bitter cold.

Staff were lovely, nothing too much trouble. However, having waited about 45 minutes for our order (Sunday roasts) we asked if we'd been forgotten? About five minutes later we heard a crash of crockery and joked that we hoped that wasn't our food! Oops! Minutes later a chap arrived with one plate of food to say the other two had been dropped! The rest of our order arrived within five minutes - all delicious.

Deddington Church of St. Peter and St. Paul is a beautiful early 13th century parish church which is built from local stone and can be seen from many miles around. The interior and exterior are both fabulously ornate and it was immaculately kept. The church has some very clean and tidy toilets and overall it is definitely worth a visit if you are visiting.

The oldest parts of theĀ Church of England parish churchĀ ofĀ SS Peter and PaulĀ are early 13th-century. The chancel was lengthened in the late 13th century, when itsĀ Decorated GothicĀ piscinaĀ andĀ sediliaĀ were made.
Until theĀ ReformationĀ the church had several chapels and altars. The guild founded in 1445 established a Chapel of the Holy Trinity, probably in the north aisle. By early in the 16th century there was also anĀ All HallowsĀ Chapel, and there were altars toĀ Our Lady,Ā St KatherineĀ andĀ St Margaret. In 1548 the Reformation removed all chapels and altars and dissolved the guild.
The church once had a tallĀ spireĀ but it collapsed onto theĀ naveĀ in 1634. Rebuilding was begun but was interrupted by theĀ English Civil War. SS Peter and Paul'sĀ stained glassĀ windows include the east window of the chancel made byĀ Charles KempeĀ in 1888 and two windows at the east end of the north aisle made by AJ Davies of theĀ Bromsgrove Guild of Applied ArtsĀ in 1923 and 1936. The building isĀ Grade II* listed.
