We had Phil take us for a few days on their sailing yacht Zara. He is clearly a hugely experienced instructor with decades of teaching experience at all capability levels behind him. He was super easy to have on the boat with us and made us feel at ease from the beginning. He never got frustrated with the constant questions and helped us develop so much. The yacht was clean and clearly very well looked after. Would very much recommend this lovely team and we are already looking at our next booking with them. Thanks so much.

I have recently fulfilled an ambition of many years and passed my RYA Offshore Yachtmaster Exam!

I could not have achieved any of this without them and their brilliant instructor Phil, the support and professionalism has been there right from the beginning when I did my RYA Day Skipper licence with them 2 years ago, through multiple mile building and skills refresher trips, RYA Coastal Skipper course and right up to using their boat for my exam with prep days before hand with Phil the instructor.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for everything they have done for me and to urge anybody looking to up their skills in yacht cruising to give them a call, you won’t regret it!

Just completed the Competent Crew course. We sailed all around the coast around Falmouth, spending nights in Fowey and the Helford. Phil the instructor curated a perfect itinerary based on the weather, enabling us to build confidence as the week progressed. The boat (Merlin) was comfortable and fun to sail and the food and general arrangements were all excellent. As a first-time sailor I'd heartily recommend this experience to anybody. Thanks Phil and all the crew!

What a fantastic week! The sailing was both challenging and fun, the boat comfortable, safety equipment new/as new, the food was excellent, and Phil (RYA instructor) is an incredibly good teacher with the pleasant, good-humoured patience of a saint. Parking was included for the duration of the course (in this case 6 days x £7.50 = £45) and admin were responsive and happy to deal with Food allergies/intolerances, electric cars, or any other curve ball thrown. If you are thinking of doing RYA competent crew or Day skipper, or just want to hire a nice yacht in a beautiful region of the UK for a week or two, I strongly recommend you use Take a Turn Yachting.

I would thoroughly recommend Take a Turn Yachting. I have just completed my RYA Dayskipper Course. Phil is a very knowledgeable, experienced instructor with the ability to ensure everyone in the group learns from every exercise.

Course content was pitched at the right level and rather than following a strict syllabus he could adapt to scenarios as they arose but covered everything we needed to.

Boat was clean, food was excellent and home made.

The course exceeded my expectations and despite some wet weather we all had a fantastic time. I wouldn't hesitate to use Take a Turn for any further course or tuition.

After buying a larger sailing boat earlier in the year, Phil took us out over a couple of days for 'own boat tuition'. He took us through some exercises and answered all our questions giving us much more confidence to sail on our own, especially in stronger winds! We can highly recommend Take a Turn.
