ive never been treated so inhumanely at a school that I was promised would be good dont waste your life here. they don't care about you or how badly your impacted by things they only care about the money that they get for treating you like animals. they twist every story they have about you they send you to isolation for such stupid reasons they consivscate your stuff even when you don't want them to they don't care either way if you refuse you are sent to isolation all day if you refuse that your suspended if you miss a detention your suspended its horrible here i see no difference in hell and this school. please for the sake of your children dont send them here send them to a school that's actually willing to care about their mental health

My son currently attends this school and I have always had good, quick communication from them. I have found them to be helpful and supportive to both parents and child. The teachers my son has are very engaging and enthusiastic.

Stay clear of this school, bullying and violence is consistent! Teachers can’t manage the class rooms and often remove themselves. They need to invest in teachers who actually care about these children’s future and want to make a difference. Very disappointed in this school, they have failed many families.

Review for Bourne Academy School (2017-2019)

I attended Bourne Academy from 2017 to 2019, and my experience was far from positive. The school had a reputation for being “chavvy,” with a significant bullying problem, including some teachers who seemed indifferent to the issues. While I did find some genuinely caring and authentic teachers like Mr. Schmidt, Mr. Mastrocola, Mr. Perkins, and Miss Smith, they were the exception rather than the rule. These educators deserve better than the environment they were in.

Unfortunately, the leadership, particularly Mr. Avoth, left much to be desired. From my experience, he was quite rude, and during a particularly difficult time in my life—losing my mother when I was in Year 8—the school did not offer the support I needed. They allowed me to stop attending without question, which was incredibly disappointing.

The school’s uniform was an unattractive mix of ugly pink and neon colors, and the rules often felt arbitrary and overly strict, seemingly an attempt to mimic the policies of nearby schools like Glenmoor and Winton. Ironically, while they imposed sanctions for trivial reasons, there was a pervasive culture of students getting away with far worse, including smoking and using drugs on school grounds.

On a positive note, the canteen food was surprisingly good, and the school had a diverse mix of students. The schedule was also unique, with late finishes on Mondays at 4 PM and early finishes on Wednesdays at 1 PM. However, overall, my time at Bourne Academy was overshadowed by a lack of support and a challenging environment.

I started in year 7 in 2017 and through until year 10 the staff were lazy and couldn't care less about the students. It seemed like they were only there for the pay because I barely learned anything from the school until year 11 when they finally got serious since we had exams coming up. There were a few good teachers but most of them left.

Went here few years ago and it was the best school I had been to in my experience. It was a very different environment to other schools where it’s like a prison. The headteacher and teachers really cared about the students and had their best interest in mind. They were very innovative and you also got rewarded a lot for doing well. The inside of the school is very colourful and nicely designed and the students were kind and well-behaved, I didn’t see bullying here.

This school was horrendous, both my children were bullied, the school did nothing. Even when I took my children out of school it took a week for the head of house to call, he told me we were over reacting to my child being stabbed with a compass in their back. I asked whet would happen if I did the same to him . He told me he would call the police and yet the school did nothing. I said if my children went into school saying things had happened at home that happened at school they would have been taken off me . I sent my children to school to be educated not bullied, scared ,belittled frightened and abused. We have all had to have counselling because of this school . I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. Steer well clear.
