Came for a valentines lunch date today as couldn’t make it out this evening and I honestly cannot fault our experience, greeted from the moment we walked in, sat at the most beautiful table with beautiful tables surrounding us, the rustic feeling of the place just brought so much joy, seeing the log fire roaring away was just stunning. The food was 20/10 please pass our compliments to the chef as we both enjoyed the food very very much. The food and service quality was exceptional and we cannot wait to come back. We was recommended to come and try The Crown and we just cannot wait to come back. The meal was delicious! The quality of the food was very high, the presentation flawless and the service impeccable. Overall, a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend to anyone to go and try and they certainly won’t be disappointed.

We weren't staying at this hotel, so we can't comment on the rooms.
We called in for dinner and had our dog with us. The service was casual and friendly and the food was excellent.
The bar was warm and inviting and the locals were welcoming and made a fuss of the dog.
Easy to recommend to all.

My family and I had a fabulous three course meal at The Crown Inn this evening. The food was fresh, well seasoned, well presented and arrived promptly, with no long wait between courses. The owner made a real fuss of my 6 year old, joking and chatting away with him during the evening and making sure his specific requests (no foods touching!) were catered for, even giving him a Snickers bar as a treat with the bill! I had the soup of the day, the chestnut loaf and mince pie brownie and these were all delicious. Vegetarian food can often be an afterthought at pubs and restaurants, but everything I had was up there with some of the best vegetarian food I’ve had in the local area. There was a good selection of alcohol free beer too, which was great. In the summer, there’s a lovely garden area with a kids’ playground and bouncy castle which our kids love. The perfect family pub with delicious food. I’d recommend The Crown Inn to anyone!

Went out with friends for a meal and decided to try this establishment. The pub was busy when we arrived, as the rugby was on.
We were shown through to the restaurant area, where there was a range of seating, and we were shown to our seats, which was in a booth.
These were really uncomfortable. They were all wood, with thin seat cushions that did not offer any form of comfort.
The menu is very limited but still offered a variety of dishes, and allergies were catered for.
It took some time for our food to arrive, and when it did, it looked nice and was well presented, however the steaks were grisely, as was the braised steak option, and some of the triple cooked chips were over done.
The fish and chip option was very good, as were the puddings.

The service was good and price- wise was on par with other restaurants we have been to.

Stopped here for lunch but a little disappointed. Had the curried cauliflower soup which tasted like a bowl of curry sauce heated up and my husband had a burger which was very bland. I found it expensive for the portion size. I have heard good reviews about the dinner menu so may try again in the evening.

I recently enjoyed an exceptional pub lunch that ticked every box for a wonderful dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed by the staff, who were incredibly polite and genuinely attentive throughout our visit. The service was flawless, perfectly paced so that we never felt rushed, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our time there.

The ambiance was superb, blending rustic charm with a cozy, inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The setting was well-thought-out, with comfortable seating and tasteful decor that added to the whole experience. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into creating a space where guests can unwind and enjoy a meal in good company.

The food was just as wonderful as the service—delicious and beautifully presented. Every aspect of our visit reflected an attention to detail that made it feel like a special occasion. If you’re looking for a pub with excellent food, outstanding service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!

Lovely roast dinner, and lovely service. Please note that you cannot bring dogs into the restaurant part of the pub. We brought ours as google says dog friendly, but unfortunately not if you want to eat!

Great Sunday roast menu, delicious food and brilliant service with a smile at the bar and at the table. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Will definitely visit again.
