As someone who has ridden at various stables over the years, I knew what I was looking for and what was important when researching yards around the area. I have not been disappointed with The Kiln. The calibre of tuition is fantastic - both for myself (an experienced rider but returning to the saddle after a break) and my partner's young daughter, who is a novice and has come on in confidence and skill so much since riding at The Kiln. In addition to the tuition, the horses and ponies are also fantastic - perfect for those who want to learn horsemanship in a safe environment.

I’ve been riding here for over 10 years now. I started at another stables when I moved to the uk near Farnham castle.

We found this place and she let me have a trail less to see if I liked the place, and I haven’t stopped coming here!! I rode here for a year then sadly had to move countries with my family.

But I kept coming back to this stable every time I visited the uk. They do amazing hacks, amazing lessons and everyone is super friendly.

The lady who runs the stable, Angie, is very knowledgeable about riding and is an amazing instructor who seems to help any rider that comes her way.

Sam who works tirelessly round the stables everyday is very welcoming, and very helpful. She has a very good knowledge of horses aswell.

Horse are very well cared for, best I’ve seen. I ride in Nottingham aswell and the standard here is so much better. It’s a proper homely stables, it’s not super fancy buts it’s friendly and cozy, which is what I love in a stable.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wishes to start riding, or push their skills further. It’s suitable for all needs.

I will always be riding here even though I live 2 hours away! It always boosted my confidence and allows my skills to progress!!

My children went there for a day during May half term with their school friends.
In the morning they were greeted by not very nice woman, then after parents left they were handled to 12 years old girl and teen boy who were looking after them the whole day (! website says about experienced coaches!), before handling them back to that lady an hour before picking up time. They were watching two private riding lessons bored to death (boys were just seating on site, one girl was standing for entire hour and holding a pony and the other girl was walking the pony with a client who had a lesson - so one child was busy, other 3 bored). My boy fell off the pony (luckily that was not a tall horse), because saddle was not done properly by teen boy. None reported it to me. That was beginners day but they were let to ride horses on their own at times. They had lunch in a filthy old caravan-storage shed where hygiene rating would be below 0 if a scale would go down. They have cleaned 10 boxes ( four kids 8 and 10 yrs old!) from the poo which was part of the day entertainment but they said they enjoyed it. They also said that teen boy and a girl were joking and laughing at them. When my son saw me in the afternoon he started crying.

The odd lady just left not even trying to be polite and say a word, despite I tried to say thank you for looking after children. (I had not hear the children story yet)
None even attempted to pretend that they welcome and look after kids. Children were very disappointed and said there was no way they would go back there.

They had much better experience at different stables before and did not expect the service to be such a negligence.

That was Old Kiln Stables - the grounds look really messy and neglected.

Never again and will examine myself any site before I let my children stay there.

Please avoid this place for the sake of the horses there.
My daughter went there to work for the owner but after only 2 hours of seeing how it was run had to leave.
She has experience not only as a competition rider of her own but other peoples horses, as well as running her own livery yard so I know she can comment with knowledge.
The horses are underfed, unwatered, standing in filth and being worked in ill fitting tack that will cause sores.
It is important for the welfare of the horses and ponies there that you do not support this establishment.
