I have been a student/member of the Literacy Pirates. This is a fantastic program for children who need help with Reading and Writing. What's very good about it is that it does not just help you with your Reading & Writing. But helps you to become an Author & Writer at a young age from 8-13. You can also be a screenwriter, a script that you read, and you get to see yourself at the premiere of the Rio Cinema. This is a fantastic experience for the people who need help with their Literacy & Writing! Although, I think what could improve more is the times. Some people especially Secondary may not make it on time due to detentions. Overall this is a fantastic place to learn.

This is a great spot. So happy to have a children's bookstore so close to us. Especially one, with such a cool interior, and friendly staff. It's not particularly convenient for the gigantic buggy that I have, but then again, it's not a buggy parking lot, but a cafe/bookstore/charity shop.

This is not just a children’s bookshop, this place is a cafe-bookshop-quiet space to hang out. It’s cosy and you’re not surrounded by people on laptops. It’s a truly relaxed space where you can enjoy great coffee and food. Also they sell the most adorable cards.

Delicious coffee, huge pain au chocolate, beautiful room (that looks like a ship!!), friendly staff, free WiFi, and a shop full of amazing and inspiring gifts, cards and art. Oh, and the profits go to help young people locally. The best cafe in Hackney (despite stiff competition!)

We hired a room at The Hackney Pirates for our Charity's AGM. Lovely space, well priced and very friendly staff. Really liked the giant blackboard walls. Staff came in and opened up early for us on short notice and were friendly on the phone.

We're quite a relaxed group and it worked for us. Probably wouldn't work for more formal groups, but we were very pleased.
