We decided to stay one night to break up a long journey. I had reasonable expectations with the room costing £50 for the night, but a main selling point was the available leisure facilities at an advertised fee of £5 a session. My mistake on this occasion was not checking Tripadvisor first.||In brief this is place I would not stay again. Our room looked like everything had come from a second hand shop. It appeared never to have been decorated. The bed mattress made it seem like I was sleeping on a trampoline with a few missing springs. I have never seen a family size fridge in a hotel room.||On checking in the reception area had screens enclosing it reminding me of those you see in old American films in down town New York. Designed to protect staff from the risk of violence and abuse. I arrived Saturday afternoon and was told the leisure centre was closed. The bar was closed. The restaurant was closed. Not what I was expecting in a hotel and leisure centre.||The whole area was dirty and a mess.||On Sunday morning we did decide to use the gym facilities before leaving and was not disappointed. A great range of equipment. There was a squash court but it was not used by me. A pass was £5.||The other positive is a nice view from the hotel of the cricket ground.||So in summary… I will not stay again. The place is a mess. Interestingly I note the management do not appear to comment on reviews.

Value for money, clean good sized rooms. People very friendly and welcoming. Simple well cooked food. Love the American motel layout of the rooms.

Beautiful hotel, lovely and clean. Me my partner and our children stayed and it was so cozy. The staff are always polite and help with whatever you need. There are multiple shops within 5 minute walks from here and there are also multiple parks within 10-15 minute walks away.

Fortunately we only stayed here for 1 night, breaking up the journey from South to North.|Having checked in we asked if the bar was open for a drink and food, and was told it wasnt, so we therefore had to find somewhere else to eat, which wasnt the original plan. It would have been nice to know before we arrived that that was the case.|as for the room, it was OK at best. Tiles coming off in the bathroom, lying on the beds felt like it was going to collapse at any time, the heating was on max when we walked in after finally finding somewhere to eat.|The hotel, or more like a motel, did its job, but would I stay again, no, and I was glad it was only a 1 night stay

Nice place, comfortable room, reasonably priced.
Breakfast good could be warmer on a hot plate. As to pay a £1.00 deposit for some reason of security,? which when checking on my on line banking seemed to have gone to some Pub in Stoke on Trent? Bit weird.

I booked a room for 2 fitters (Twin Room) on arrival the beds were together with one quilt cover, they separated the beds, the floor was absolutely disgusting, very stained and one of the mattresses had a large stain mark on it, When they went to reception to ask for another quilt and cover, the receptionist was not very helpful, and said that they could have a sheet only. The fitters had, had a very long day working, so to keep warm one of the fitters had to sleep in his clothes. Would not recommend, Will not be booking this Hotel again!!

the receptionists are lovely and tge rest of the staff are amazingly polite. the room is nice and spacious. it's a nice place
