I trained with Tom twice a week for three months to regain strength after giving birth. I was feeling weak, sore and mentally drained, when I started but now I feel stronger, a lot more dynamic and positive. I really appreciated Tom’s friendliness, flexibility and openness to welcome my daughter on the occasions when I could not get childcare. He just ‘gets it’ and creates the right conditions for a new mum to exercise and enjoy it 🙂 I highly recommend training with Tom.

I trained with Tom postnatal for about 5 months in order to get my fitness and core strength back. He is an excellent and knowledgable trainer who would make sure my techniques and postures were correct. I was also able to bring my little one to training sessions with me. Would highly recommend Tom to anyone who would like 1-2-1 postpartum training sessions!

Tom has been a great find for us, we are in the older age group and he has provided us with an achievement program which steadily builds our strength ability. Tom listens closely to his clients and uses his great depth of knowledge to advise us on many aspects of fitness and nutrition. Thorough, consistent and helpful and personalised training, such a great PT!
I reach out to Tom as I was lacking motivation and consistency with my gym and Tom truly taught me all what I know today. Tom has built up my confidence in the gym allowing me to be able to walk in to any gym and know what do to! He’s helped me get back on track and loose weight with structure and a plan in place. I initially came to Tom at Train for Change because I had a previous back injury and I wanted to learn how to safely weight lift and build strength without causing any further damage. I also had my wedding dress to fit into & after 6 months with Tom both goals were achieved! I’ve stayed working with Tom for a further 6 months as he has been a fantastic PT (only leaving now as I’m moving). If my back was playing up on the day he’d adjust the exercises on the spot so I could still work out the same muscles and keep my back happy at the same time. He was also happy to make additional bespoke home workouts according to what he thought would supplement our PT sessions and also according to what I’d like to do. Tom often organises fun step challenges with his clients and trips to Parkrun, etc (all free and optional)! He encouraged me to do the Exeter 10km too and so I signed up and ran it with my husband and we both had a great day out. Tom is always happy to answer any and all of my questions during our PT sessions, no matter how dumb they are, and he always manages to keep the sessions fun, lighthearted and full of encouragement. I’d fully recommend Tom as a PT! Especially if you have any medical history that might be discouraging you from joining a gym.

Tom is truly excellent. His cardiac and post partum specialisms are what brought me to him, but I stayed a fair while after those issues had been overcome because he is both encouraging and knowledgable but most importantly emotionally intelligent. He’ll push you hard, but knows when to ease off and he is realistic in working alongside the time pulls of daily life.
I couldn’t recommend him more.

I've been a client for more than a year and starting with Tom was one of the best decisions I made. He adapts your training to your needs and knowledge and increases the difficulty gradually, making the learning process very rewarding. He is understanding and is capable to motivate easily. He likes to listen and engage conversation which makes the whole experience even more pleasant. He is quite flexible and tries very hard to adapt his schedule to his clients. I literally enjoyed every training, didn't miss any single one and gave a 100%.
