UK Football Trials - Redruth

I had taken my 11 year old son Alex along to a GK trial day in Uxbridge as he's usually an outfield player but seems to be a talented GK. I told him it would just be a fun kick about with some older players whilst I wrote up coaching notes for my Uefa badges. He had a great day and loved the drills and coaches. He was one of the smallest and youngest there having just turned 11 six weeks earlier but was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. His feedback card from the drifter coach wasn't so great but I presumed maybe they thought he was a tiny teenager as he was in with the group that had 16 year olds in it 😉

He's a brave lad, held his own and made some great saves and passes. Afterwards we spoke to Chelsea and Spurs scouts. They were impressed with him especially as he's both footed, quick (he didn't get left behind in the whole group sprint) and can really play football! The Chelsea scout put his name down as we live closer to them. He's been really professional and has kept us updated adding Alex on to a scouting profile app they use.

He'll be starting a stint on a U11 trial block in their main academy in Cobham soon and hopefully will enjoy the experience. He just needs to work out whether he's a GK or forward as he loves both so they'll assess both apparently! I'm in camp GK as we need more footballers in goal!

My 13 year old boy attended Sheffield 1 day trial today, regardless of the feedback / decisions we might receive I was very impressed with the setup / coaching, everything was made clear to both parent and player, good ethic and advice, it is good for young players to hear these things from people other than their parents and people with extensive knowledge of the game. Many scouts in attendance.

My son Jack McKay attended two UK football trials, the organisation was excellent, the coaches gave great feedback and the training sessions were good! He was scouted by West Bromwich Albion, Derby County FC and Birmingham Academy following the UK football trails. The West Brom scout was very professional and has contacted us personally to ask if he can watch Jack play a MJPL match this coming Saturday. Derby have also been in touch, witb excellent feedback and to say that they will be monitoring his performance over the coming season. The UK football trials are a great opportunity!

The UKFT founders Harry and James Price, the coaches, scouts, sport psychologist, and staff at UKFT have been instrumental in our son’s football development. We’ve attended multiple trials in the UK & US, received a scholarship offer, & had additional trials with pro clubs & scouts, at both Premier League & Championship academy levels. Come to trials at peak fitness & be ready to play with a great attitude and no excuses, because the level of play is quite high and training sessions & scrimmages long. Buy & read their 190 page book about How To Get Scouted before trials and read & practice what is in the book. It is an excellent read, and addresses each player’s position, & will help prepare you for trials. They are 100% honest about your child’s assessments, abilities, & opportunities in football/soccer. Initially, I was very skeptical as any good parent would or should be, but they won my trust after meeting them. They will treat your son like their own son. They are top notch and the best at organizing events where multiple scouts & coaches attend to look for talented players. We look forward to returning to UK Football Trials.

As a scout for several clubs in mens and womens football I can recommend them as they are always well run.

Over last year I've scouted over 5 girls at the trials. One is now playing for a club in FA Womens National League.

All events are well attended by scouts from pro to non league clubs.

My son attend the UK football trials as a goalkeeper in June it was well organised and the coaching was quality. The scouts were all over the pitch and my son had a lot of interest and was spoken to by one of the scouts. When we left we were fully briefed on the next stages. We found out that my son was scouted for 4 clubs now the journey starts.

Overall very happy and worth the money
