Very bad university. Trying to make money by failing the students in the modules and dissertation. First they pass the students but after a week or month then they fail the students by saying, you have plagiarism or you have some miss conduct in ur assignment. No way of working properly , trying to bother the students, Through out all the supervision during the dissertation ,the supervisor didn’t even know anything, but at the last when it’s time for the results, they wake up.. Recommended not to do any degree their especially international students from my opinion to the students study their and their experiences , which I heard.

i am not a student of university but i am a family member of a graduate 🧑‍🎓. I am disappointed that some families drove long distance to support the graduated students and we do understand that 3pm was start although being two minutes before 3 we were not allowed in .. the parents of graduating student were left very disappointed and upset same as the student- this was far too strict and mean and instead of celebrating and being happy nobody clapped for the student as nobody was there to support him- university of Portsmouth taking enormous money and fees for the courses and crazy fees for the outfit, guest tickets , fees for pictures for the special day it is very mean and rude from the your part to take this away from so many over 1min lateness !! the staff at the door (security) was absolutely out of manners also ! this has to be fixed ! I went to graduation in London two different universities and this never happened to the families- I have seen at your university two students who came few minutes before three even these were not let in for their own graduation!! really bad

I graduated from Portsmouth University, and my honest review is that this University doesn't care about the students or their learning! I struggled quite a bit with no support or help from the teachers, I understand our research and theory, learning is all made by us but there are some things you still need to understand better and need support on and yet you don't get that, this is my experiences and my opinions and how I felt altogether as a whole.

There are lucking in the teaching environment which needs improving, support are not present when needed and struggles, stress and worries are not addressed, I felt lost half of the times so it was a horrible experience for me and I wish no one goes through like me.

I graduated from Portsmouth University with a First.
The university was fine, do not regret going. However it seemed to me the universities main objective is profit.

An example: since I have dyslexia, they told me about, extra computer programs I would need, extra lessons to learn the software, even money I need for printer ink. None of which I received. They say how much do you want us to apply for ink, I say £20 they reply with we'll apply for £150. I imagine they applied for hundreds, none of benefits I ever received.

Also you won't get any respect for being a paying student. For example university cancelled my annual parking permit, through an email I didn't see ,such that I got a parking ticket on the last day of my course, and now I have to attend court to defend myself over a now £170 fine when I've paid them 10's thousands.

I can only really comment on the natural sciences department which has some of the nicest, most knowledgeable people I’ve ever met and although the labs are old, they are still definitely up to scratch for modern research! Communal areas such as the SU and library are also pretty great. But the university definitely lacks in terms of IT systems, course structure (like how well they explain certain aspects of the course) and the accommodation. All I’ll say about the latter is this. Avoid it. I stayed in Harry Law hall and it’s reminiscent of the 9th circle of Hell.

Studied my Bachelors degree in Business and Management here, generally a good university, especially their business school. Some very beautiful buildings aswell such as Park building. Most of the staff are helpful and polite and willing to provide support to students. Overall a pretty good experience.
