What an amazing course! The 6 weeks covered all of the basics of throwing, trimming, decorating and glazing. We have all walked away with such a good understanding of all the techniques needed to start off our own pottery journeys. Alicja was patient and friendly, adjusting levels of help given based on student skill level which helped everyone move at their own pace through the course. Upland Clay studio is a gorgeous space too, bright and airy and such a nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to start their pottery journey from an amazing teacher, cannot recommend Upland Clay enough!

Well what can I say but if your thinking of attending a pottery class/ session or course look no further!
From my first foot in the door of Alicja’s beautiful studio I was hooked ☺️
I felt instantly welcome, Alicja’s teaching was second to none! Having being a complete newby to the world of throwing with this lovely ladies expertise, knowledge and incredible talent I can now say that I’ve truly caught the bug of pottery 💗
I have been back to the studio many times and I ALWAYS feel comfortable and welcome 🤗 Thank you for having so much patience and being such a wonderful teacher x

Last minute booking, ended been a great experience for me & my children. A warm welcome, great studio, with lots of gentle support from Alicja to create as many as pots as you want/can. Suitable for anyone willing to get abit mucky. Thank you 😊

We took part in a one off 'clay day' 4 hour course for beginners and couldn't recommend the day highly enough. Hosted in an excellent well equipped clean workshop, the knowledgeable hosts were very good at teaching you the basics of what you need to know to get started in pottery, letting you get on with having a go and making your own mistakes etc. but always there to lend a guiding hand if needed. Unexpected light lunch halfway through included in the price which was a nice bonus. If it's something you're considering, I would definitely go for it.

What a lovely time my friend and I had today. We came in with zero experience or knowledge thinking we would never be successful but we are both thrilled with our makes. Alicja was so patient and a wonderful teacher. I would definitely return.

I did a 4 hour class in early November.. it was great fun and a great introduction to pottery. Highly recommend and look forward to hopefully signing up to the longer course in the future

Attended the Clay Day today (Sunday 19th May) it was absolutely brilliant. Something I have wanted to try for a very long time. Ample parking, staff absolutely lovely, drinks available, toilet facilities and something to eat half way through. I made a vase, mug, bowl, something bespoke - by accident, 3 of which you get to keep and any extra pay £3 for! Interested in the 6 weeks course now. Definitely worth going on the Clay Day! As a present for my birthday. My son, husband and me had our first taste of throwing pots. We all thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Lovely warm welcome, great teaching and just an all round great experience. Can't wait to see our creations as finished pieces. We'll definitely be doing this again....its better than therapy X
